A hunting patrol for Sprucepaw!

Sandfrost sighed as she walked into the apprentice's den. She was going to wake up her new apprentice and take him hunting. It was a small patrol of just the two of them. She spotted his pelt and prodded his sleeping body with a paw. "Wake up Sprucepaw. We're going hunting so meet me st the camp entrance!" the warrior said as she exited the den. She walked over to the entrance of the camp and sat down, waiting for the young tom to arrive.

Sprucepaw first stretched his legs and opened his light green eyes. Then the apprentice got up and began to walk out of the apprentice's den. He gave Sandfrost a cool smile as he approached her. "I'm here to begin training!" he announced to his mentor. He wanted to play it cool in front of this very pretty she-cat.

Sandfrost rolled her eyes and beckoned the tom to follow her. "C'mon Sprucepaw. Follow me." she said as she led the flirty tom out of the camp. Her blue eyes looked around the territory as she slowed her pace for the tom to be able to take some looks around. Her sand-colored pelt shone in the arriving sun. It wasn't too cold so she didn't mind them taking a nice stroll while heading to her favorite hunting spot. "So...Sprucepaw...do you like the territory so far?" she asked him.

"Yes! It's very pretty now that Newleaf is approaching." he answered as he was walking beside her. The tom sighed in content as the air rufgled his short coat. He was happy to just be out of camp finally. "Where are we going to stop?" he asked suddenly.

"Right over there." she pointed out. It was an area with many reeds and tall grass. Great for catching land prey. Sandfrost stopped in front of her apprentice. "Okay I will demonstrate how to catch land prey. You have to use the Hunter's crouch." she explained. She crouched down with her belly as low as it could go without it touching the ground. Her tail was only an inch above the ground. Her paws were spread which distributed her weight evenly. The warrior stood up again. "I'll show you how to catch prey with what i just showed you." she said while searching for something to catch. She soon found a mouse looking elsewhere. She dropped down and did the hunter's crouch. The sand-colored she-cat carefully made her way to the rodent and soon pounced when she was at a close distance. She caught it with little effort and dropped it in front of Sprucepaw. "Now you give it a go." she said.
