Spiderkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Littlebrook leaped up onto Jaggedrock before letting her soft voice ring out across the busy clearing. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Spiderkit half tripped over his own paws as he bolted out into the clearing, scrambling over to the Jaggedrock. He knew what time it was, and you could all but see him vibrating with excitement. The black and white tom-kit quickly rasped his tongue over his fur so he'd look at least semi-presentable, and sat down, chest puffed in up in pride.

Crowfur rushed behind his son and sat next to him. His large frame pressed against the young tom's. He was too proud for words. He loved all his kits and would be there for their accomplishments, like a father should. He gave Spiderkit a grin before looking forward once more. His son would do many great things!

Cedarstorm walked behind his mate and she looked at her brushing his own fur for his ceremony. The large fluffy she-cat purred proudly before settling down right next to Crowfur. Even though Spiderkit reminded her of Sootpaw, the she-cat threw away her sad thoughts and just focused on her young kit's ceremony. This was an important moment and she wanted to be happy for him.

"Spiderkit, please step forward." She meowed, her voice gentle but commanding. As soon as the young kit took a step forward, she continued. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to begin training. From this moment until you receive your warrior name, you shall be called Spiderpaw. Crowfur will be your mentor. I trust he will train you well." She finished clearly, happiness radiating from her blue gaze. ShadowClan was growing quite well.

Spiderpaw whirled around to his father in excitement and shock, locking his golden gaze on his, "Dad?!" He couldn't believe it, his dad was his mentor! "No way!"

Crowfur was as equally surprised as his son. The last time he apprenticed someone was when he was assigned his own son Sootpaw. That memory brought a heavy heart ache to his chest but he rapidly pushed those thoughts away. He walked up to his son and touched his nose to Spiderpaw. "Be sure to rest up. We will begin training early tomorrow! You will truly be one of Shadowclan's greatest warriors when i'm done with you!" he purred as he left for the warrior's den.

His heart beating in double time, Spiderpaw could barely contain himself as he scrambled over to his sisters to talk their ears off about what the future may hold.
