Whitekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled, shaking a chill out of her pelt.

Whitekit’s typically sober face glowed with excitement as the young Tom barreled out of the nursery towards the clan meeting, he’d never been allowed to attend before and to be invited now meant only one thing; he was about to take his first steps as his brother and sisters had. The snowy white kit hurriedly took his place near the tall rock with blue eyes blazing.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. "Whitekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Whitepaw. Your mentor will be Stormcloud. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."

Stormcloud was taken aback by Ashstar's choice, to say the least. He was to be a mentor? He had never had an apprentice before! Ah, but he had to start somewhere, right? A grin crawled onto his face as he padded towards the newly apprenticed Whitepaw, gently touching noses with the young tom. "We can begin training at dawn." He mewed, his tail swishing behind him in pleasure.

Whitepaw bowed his head respectfully to Ashstar to acknowledge her decision, before padding over to touch noses with his new mentor. Blue eyes wide as he took in the impressive figure of Stormcloud, his body thrilled at the mention of the coming dawn and the beginning of his life as an Apprentice. The freshly dubbed white Apprentice nodded his understanding to his mentor, "Yes Stormcloud, I'll be ready."
