Gorges Don't Prevent Battles

Rustling from RiverClan's side of the border was heard, and Sweetheart gently pushed her way out through of the camp. She had been cooped up in that nursery for so long, she had almost forgotten what fresh air smelled like. Even if she didn't really like RiverClan as a whole anymore due to the Sunningrocks battle and its aftermath, she truly loved the territory.

Her fur stood on end at the sudden screeching of cats in the distance, and she recognized the yowling of her Clanmate, and who she considered a fairly close friend, Smokewish. It was clear that she had gotten into a fight with another cat, and from the sounds of it she seemed to be fighting near the gorge. She raced through the marshes towards the border RiverClan shared with WindClan, huffing and panting heavily as the kits she held in her belly slowed her down a little. It really wouldn't be long now, and she shouldn't be straining herself like this, but she had to help her friend!

The screeching stopped by the time she reached the gorge, and she breathlessly gasped when she saw her friend unconscious by the border, a gray streak darting into the WindClan moors. She knew that must have been the cat who picked a fight with Smokewish, and it seemed she had won.

Sweetheart rushed to Smokewish's side and knelt down beside her. "S-Smokewish!" she panted. She had quite a few battle scars on her, especially on her shoulders and face. Judging by her position, she had been knocked to the ground and knocked unconscious by the fall. She tried nuzzling her friend awake. She would drag Smokewish back to camp herself, but there was no way she would be able to handle all the strain; it wouldn't be healthy for the kits. But Smokewish!... After the terribly close call with the fox while they were apprentices, she was always afraid any hard knocks to her head would do some serious damage to her. "W-Wake up! P-Please wake up!..."

She couldn’t see anything. It was all black. All of it. No matter where she looked. Darkness. She tried to smells something. There was nothing. No sounds came to her ears. Silence. This was nice. It was peaceful, and warm, and safe. Nothing could harm her here. Wait. It was... warm? No, weren’t they in the middle of Leafbare? Or did Greenleaf come early? Nothing was simple anymore. Anything could have happened. No, it wasn’t Greenleaf. There was something not right about this...

Smokewish remembered. Wasn’t she just fighting? Yes, she definetely was, and she had fallen. For the first time, a muffled, quiet voice reached her ears.

Smokewish...

Her eyes flew open, and immediately narrowed against the harsh light. It was Sweetheart! The young warrior opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again. What was there to say? She lay there, gazing at Sweetheart, while the severity of her injuries actually hit her and the pain racked her body. It was all she could do not to yowl out loud.

Sweetheart breathed a sigh of relief when Smokewish finally came to. "Thank StarClan you're okay... Don't do it yet, but do you think you can stand?" She looked down at the snow and scooped up a large pawful, then pressed it into her friend's bleeding wounds, melting the snow with her body heat and the warmth of the blood, staining it red. She continued this process a few more times until finally the bleeding stopped, then she moved on to the other bleeding wounds.

Smokewish winced as the freezing snow was pressed against her wounds. She knew it was helping... It was supposed to stop the bleeding, which it did. But why did everything have to be so painful? At Sweetheart’s question, she tilted her head slightly to the side. Could she stand? Probably. So, once Sweetheart had finished treating her, she dragged her paws underneath herself and pushed upwards. She was standing! Actually, it wasn’t too bad, aside from the pain. She smiled weakly. ”T-thanks, S-Sweetheart.” She mumbled quietly. Now, she had to try and walk. She cautiously put one paw in front of the other, and felt dizzy. Not the slightly wobbly kind, but the kind that sends waves under you paws and makes the reeds swoop around you. She crouched down again, with her head bowed. She had to do it. She forced herself back into a standing position. Maybe, if she went slowly... Yes, if she walked very, very slowly, she could inch her way along. She looked back to Sweetheart, her gaze apologetic for all the trouble.

Sweetheart padded next to Smokewish and offered her shoulder for her to lean against. "Don't worry, we're in no rush. Take it nice and slow, okay?"

Smokewish took a deep breath and kept moving forwards. She nodded slowly to Sweetheart, thankful for the support as she leaned gently against her shoulder. Paw after paw, she was making progress, although any attempts to go faster were unsuccessful.

(OOC: If you truly want to. It could fuel RiverClan's hatred towards WindClan, though, and even if TC and WC are already allies I don't think RC would be able to handle having to deal with two Clans at once XD)
