Pinekit's Apprentice Ceremony

The deputy wasn't in his best mood. Too many deaths... too many wounded clanmates. Darkpaw, Rowanpaw and Fawnsong... they were all gone. And now the medicine cat apprentice and his own sister were attacked too by enemy cats. He felt his paws heavier than usual when he stepped over the willow branch. ”Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!” He called, keeping a neutral tone of voice.

Pinekit walked out into the clearing, glancing to the Nursery behind him, before sitting down. He yawned. His mother had reckoned this was something important, so, as long as it was, he could forgive her for waking him up from his nap.

"Pinekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Pinepaw until the day you're ready to become a warrior." He started. His green eyes turned to the warriors and soon the decision was made. "Smokewish will be your mentor. She's a young, determined and loyal warrior that would lead well during your training. Smokewish, I'm sure you'll be a good mentor." With that being said, the deputy ended the ceremony with a quick and reassuring nod.

Smokewish was taken aback. She was to be the mentor? She didn't think it would be her! She nervously swallowed and walked up to Pinepaw, touching noses briefly. "We can start training at dawn. I'll teach you everything I know."

Pinepaw puffed himself out in pride. Yes, he was finally an apprentice! He padded over to Smokewish and touched noses, eager to start training.
