Wildkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Littlebrook leaped up onto Jaggedrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Scorchfang was one of the first cats to approach the Jaggedrock at the deputy's call. Today was the day his little brother would become an apprentice. He was very excited to see who would mentor him.

Violetshine? No, she didn't need a repeat of a moody apprentice thinking toms were better than she-cats. Littlebrook? She was patient and kind, but at the same time very busy with her own duties. Rowantalon or Crowfur? Well, wouldn't that just be a little bit biased considering they're kin?

He would just have to wait and see who would be chosen. He knew Littlebrook would choose the right cat to mentor Wildkit.

Wildkit ram out of the nusery as he heard Littlebrooks call, today he would become an apprentice. He stopped by his brother side and smiled ”Who do you think I’m goingt to get as mentor?” he asked and glanced at the cats that where gathering under the Jagged Rock.

"Well, whoever they are, you'd better treat them with respect," Scorchfang replied with an affectionate purr, nuzzling his little brother's cheek. "Today's a big day for you, isn't it? Do ShadowClan proud, Wildstar." He winked playfully.

Wildkit giggled and pounced lighttly on his brother "Maybe, maybe not" he meowed "And ofcourse I will make my clan proud" he continued.

"Wildkit, please step forward." She commanded with a warm smile. She continued once the kit had done so. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to begin training. From this moment on until you receive your warrior name, you shall be called Wildpaw. Your mentor will be Scorchfang. I know that he will teach you everything you need to know." She meowed, her deep gaze resting on the the black-pelted warrior. He had substantially changed for the better, and though Brownpaw's death was still pretty fresh, she was very confident in his ability to train another cat.

He smiled at his brother as they touched noses. He then looked proudly at the other cats as they cheered his new name loudly.

Scorchfang's eyes widened. He was going to mentor Wildpaw? After everything that happened with Brownpaw? After failing his first apprentice so miserably? Did he really deserve such an honor? What if... What if Wildpaw dies as well? What if he would be unable to save his dear younger brother from the clutches of death, just like how he was unable to save Brownpaw?

No... No. No, he couldn't think that way. He had to think positive. He was trusted to try again in training a young cat in the ways of the warrior code. Plus he would hopefully be able to teach Wildpaw how to respect she-cats.

He smiled down at his younger brother and lowered his head to boop his nose to Wildpaw's. "I'm excited to start our training with you."
