Lilackit’s Apprentice Ceremony

”Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!” The tom called with a tired smile. He was happy to see another of Splashwillow’s kits becoming an apprentice ready to train to be a future Riverclan warrior. It was relieving to know that even with the hardships of the leafbare, his clan was able to rise up and grow in size with every new apprentice and warrior.

The tiny Lilackit padded out of the nursery, her eyelids hanging low as a large yawn escaped her mouth. Her sister's apprentice had taken place the day before, and her mother had pushed her out of the den saying it must have been hers today. While the kit was excited to become an apprentice and begin training, she barely had time to wake up.

With disheveled fur and groggy golden eyes, the tabby approached the old willow. She took a seat and began to rub her eyes with her paws as everyone waited for Jaystream to speak.

"Lilackit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Lilacpaw until the day you're ready to become a warrior.“ The deputy called with a smile, fixing his eyes on the young apprentice. Who would be the best mentor for her? The answer was obvious but he doubted. Would she agree his decision? ”Your mentor will be Ivystar, our leader.” His green eyes glanced at his mother, like he was asking if that was okay for her.
