Escape [Now closed Hunting Patrol]

Ravenflight padded out of the warrior den, glancing absentmindedly at the waning fresh-kill pile. She stood near the entrance of the camp, waiting for a few more cats to begin a hunting patrol. With all that had been going on in her Clan lately, it would be good to get away and enjoy spending time in the territory. Although she wasn't a particularly skilled hunter, hunting was her escape from all the conflict that divided RiverClan.

Duckpuddle had been hesitant to go on patrols for a while now. Ever since she had broken her leg, she had been so afraid to participate in normal warrior activities. Of course, she helped out around the camp and carried out duties that could be carried out without going far into the territory. Cloudstone had said that she wasn't confined to camp, and that she could continue to fulfill her responsibilities... she just couldn't do anything too physical, or else the splint would come loose and her leg could possibly become worse. She knew that it was getting better, though, and that she'd be able to normally walk around without the splint. She figured that she should start getting back into the hang of patrolling, so when she spotted Ravenflight near the camp exit, she made her way over to the she-cat.
"Hi, Ravenflight," She began, putting on a calm smile, "Are you starting a patrol? Mind if I join you?"

Heronpaw walked out of the apprentice den, problems swirling in his mind. I can't betray my clan! But I did, he thought to himself. Well, let's catch prey. "Are you going on a hunting patrol?" he said to the two warriors.

Spotpaw saw Heronpaw leave and wondered why. It was so warm in the apprentices' den. He walked out, seeing a hunting patrol begin to form. He may be an "untrustworthy little kitty", but he was still going to hunt as much as he could for his Clan. "You aren't going hunting without me, are you?" He asked Heronpaw playfully as be padded up to them.

Smokewish opened her eyes and blinked a few times. Where was she?! This wasn’t the apprentice- Oh. That’s right. She had almost forgotten. She was a warrior now! And that meant freedom. She didn’t need to swap out the elders moss, or feed the kits... but hey, she wasn’t that lazy! Smokewish heard the beginnings of a patrol forming and climbed out of her little mossy nest, shaking the sleep from her limbs. She padded over to the group of cats, trying not to give a look to Heronpaw or Spotpaw. Many cats believed she sympathised with them, and wanted to join them in whatever it was they were doing, and she hated those absent minded rumours. Any cat who didn’t have a brain made of fox dung would be able to see that she was loyal to RiverClan. Still, she felt kinda bad for the two always being put down, so she flashed them a brief smile before looking to Ravenflight. ”Mind if I tag along?”

Ravenflight nodded at Duckpuddle. "We're just waiting on a few more," she said. The grey she-cat sighed inwardly as Heronpaw joined them, followed shortly by Spotpaw. The two troublemakers would surely make some comment about Ivystar that would put everyone in an uncomfortable position. Smokewish padded over, and Ravenflight could see her excitement. It's her first day as a warrior, she remembered. "This is enough. Let's get going," she said, starting out the entrance of camp.

Spotpaw decided to stick to the back of the group so that the rest of the cats didn't have to stare at his unworthy little pelt. He looked at the ground, averting his eyes from the pretty new warrior Smokewish, whose disapproving eyes seemed to burn holes in his pelt.

"Wait!" Wolfpaw yelled after the patrol and ran up to them "Can I come to?" he asked them and looked at them. He smiled slightly at them waiting for a reply.

Ravenflight made a face from where she led the patrol, then turned to Wolfpaw. "Come on, then," she said resignedly, trying not to show her frustration. Now she would have to put up with three chattering apprentices. I was an apprentice myself not too long ago, she reminded herself. I need to be patient with them.

Duckpuddle greeted the two apprentices that padded over with a small, calm smile. She couldn't help but begin to think at the back of her mind. Wasn't Spotpaw the really opinionated apprentice that Ivystar had specifically called out at that last meeting? Yeah. That was why Duckpuddle didn't want to stand up and yell out her opinions on this entire matter with the hostage, the battle, and the death of Thistlepaw. It wasn't her fault that she had opinions, but she was glad that she had kept her opinions silent. Well, there was that one meeting before the first war when she was just an apprentice... and she had certainly learned her lesson from when that had occurred. Shaking away those thoughts, the warrior looked over at Smokewish and gave the new warrior a nod. She was glad that she had another denmate, and she was proud of the she-cat. She began to follow after Ravenflight when she heard Wolfpaw make his presence known. The beautiful brown she-cat didn't mind that so many apprentices were joining, but she just hoped that this wouldn't be a completely chaotic control. Plus, Duckpuddle was fairly patient... to an extent, at least.

Smokewish followed the patrol, sniffing the air for any prey that might wander by, but it was leafbare after all. Less prey was to be expected, and she couldn't detect anything fresh.

Spotpaw sniffed and couldn't smell anything, so he padded over to a stream to see if he could find any fish. He swiftly flipped out a fish, killing it with a swipe of his claws.

Heronpaw checked out what prey was around, being very careful not to step on Sunningrocks. It's still contested territory, he thought to himself as he padded to the same stream that Spotpaw was fishing on. A fish that was startled by Spotpaw swam to Heronpaw, who killed it swiftly.
