Tigerkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

The tired and worried deputy jumped to the Willow Branch, preparing himself for another ceremony. These past few days had been hard for him, preparing patrols to check the borders, breaking the ice and always looking for trustful guard that would keep that Thunderclan she-cat inside her cave. He sighed and then managed to do that usual calm expression he always used to hide his concerned thoughts. ”Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!” He called while he looked for Splashwillow’s kit.

Tigerkit calmly walked out of the nursery, there was a clear bounce in his step but he tried his best to hide his over-eagerness. He didn't want Jaystream thinking that he was a thoughtless kit, no, he was going to be an apprentice now.

"Tigerkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Tigerpaw until the day you're ready to become a warrior. Your mentor will be Stoneface. Despite his young age, he is know by his loyalty and wisdom. Please be sure to learn a lot from him." After Ivystar’s announcement, he decided that for the next moons he would only choose mentors that had proven their loyalty to the clan so they could pass that to their apprentices. There were enough cats that weren’t trustful enough... Riverclan didn’t need more of them.

Jaystream left the willow branch and joined the usual celebration of a new apprentice. He was happy for Splashwillow’s son and, for few moments, he forgot about the tension between Riverclan and Thunderclan.
