Whatever It Takes [Closed]

As more Riverclan scent hit his nostrils, the white tom's fur rose along with a soft growl. He was prepared to leap forwards and defend the Thunderclan cats. However, the clanmates exchanged words and he found himself relaxing with a slow release of breath into the frigid air once more. They were still safe... for now. It was a relief there were more cats within the clan who had come to their senses, ones who did not align themselves with the savage nature of their leader. His ear flicked as they quickly exchanged words, and the Thunderclan cats did the same. Artemis shook his pelt to displace the wetness that settled along his coat. Unlike the darker cats in the party, he did not need the snow on his pelt; the wetness would only slow him down.

As Nutfur headed up the group, once the rest of the party had prepared, he nodded. However, at the thought of swimming in this weather was less than appealing. The chill and ice that would likely form on their fur would only hold them back from a mission that revolved around stealth and speed. Artemis piped up as he trotted up next to the Riverclan she-cat, "Perhaps we should use the thick ice or another place to cross... none of the Thunderclan cats will fare well in this weather." As much as he hated to admit it, his father had most certainly trained sense into him in their sessions together. He wondered what Titus was doing for a brief second, but pushed the thought away and focused his blue eyes on the task ahead.

"Ivystar made us break the ice. But there are some stepping stones close by you can use," Nutfur explained, a small growl in her voice when she said Ivystar's name. The warrior quickly headed for the stones she had mentioned, hissing slightly when she saw that they were covered in ice. Oh well. She could fix that easily. The brown she-cat waded a little into the water before hitting the first stone with her claws, shattering the ice. She continued to do the same for the entire line, not bothered by the icy cold of the river. Once she had crossed, she waited for the ThunderClanners, the rogue, and Sweetheart. She was actually doing this.
