There's Comfort in the Panic(semi closed for those in the Smol Plot)

Lichenfang had been needing to stretch her legs lately and think about everything that had happened as of late. She had been so worried about her daughter Honeyspark and even the warrior Lionspark who were taken hostage after the battle at sunningrocks. Now she was glad that her daughter had been returned home but things weren't over yet she could tell another battle was on the horizon. As she padded deeper into the territory she was so focused on her thoughts the rustling in the bushes not to far away took her off gaurd. She snapped her ears up just as a body crashed into her with a hiss she tried to snap her jaws at the cat. Though she couldn't reach them as was shoved roughly to the ground. The scarred she cat hissed in frustration up until the rouge started shredding it's claws into her hind legs.  This caused her to yowl in pain as blood showed through the grey and diluted ginger of her legs she pulled herself free which caused even more damage to her already wounded legs. Blood coated her legs and it hurt to even stand but the adrenaline of the fight pushed her forward. She pushed into the rouge scoring her claws across it flank. It had growled and turned and swatted her hard across her ears. There was a second pain that seemed to last forever before red seeped into her vision. That's when she realized it was her blood from her ears. Her hearing was ringin hurting her more then she thought it would. That was when the rouge took it's chance and shoved her to the ground shredding her legs on final time before it stood hearing someone or more the one cat coming or thought it did and ran quickly.

Lichenfang laird where the rouge left her in a bloody mess. Her hearing was going in and out on her and her legs hurt so much she didn't even bother to move.

Leopardclaw's black-tipped ears pricked up, suddenly on high alert.  What was that sound?  It was faint...but odd, and a nervous feeling began to churn in the pit of his stomach.  With a puzzled, but worried, look, the golden spotted deputy turned around to face the rest of his patrol - his daughters Birdflight and Orchidfeather, and Dustcloud.  "Hey, did you guys hear that?"  No matter if they did or not, because a heartbeat after he spoke a loud, agonizing wail pierced the air...and Leopardclaw's blood ran cold.  It was his mate's voice that was calling out in pain.  As the realization set in, his eyes quickly clouded over with intense fear.  He broke off from the patrol and began to race as fast as he could through the snow towards where he sound was coming from."LICHENFANG!  LICHENFANG!"  His chest hurt from sucking the freezing air into his lungs, and his pelt was caked with sticky layers of snow, but he kept going.  He needed to find her, he wouldn't loose her again!  He couldn't!

Suddenly, Leopardclaw skidded to a halt, his hazel eyes opening wide.  Before him, laying on the ground, her blood staining the snow red...was his beautiful mate.  Blood covered her shredded back legs and obscured her pained face...but he recognized his beloved instantly.  "L..Lichenfang!"  The word came out in a frantic, tearful screech, as the large golden tom dashed forward and crouched down beside his beloved, scanning her injuries but not actually seeing them in his haze of confusion and anxiety.  His breath coming in gasps, he gazed down into her open mossy green eyes, and closed his own, pressing his muzzle against hers with a comforting whisper, which he wasn't aware she might never hear.  "Help is on the way my love... Birdflight and Orchidfeather are coming...just hang on, please."

Orchidfeather had been trailing behind the patrol until they had all come to a stop. She blinked for a moment hearing what her father said and was about to answer with she heard it too when she heard the wail that she couldn't mistake. It was her mother's. She flattened her ears and tailed her father,Leopardclaw, losing him at first but caught up soon. Though she stopped seeing the red colored snow and the blood that covered her mother's hind legs and covered her face a bit from her ears that was barely there. "M...mom!"She said scared and fearful for Lichenfang's life."Dad...w..what do you want me to do?"She asked looking to Leopardclaw.


Lichenfang's mossy green eyes moved looking to Leopardclaw as she saw his pelt out of the corner of her eyes. She relaxed some bit she was scared. She hid the fear well but the pain was so excruciating it wasn't something she could hide. She heard his screech it painful to her ears and if she could flatten her ears she would but she couldn't move her ears because it hurt so much. Her world was pain at the moment. She could tell he was trying to talk to hear but his whisper couldn't be heard and she strained to hear wanting to hear his comforting voice so so bad. Though she couldn't and tears started to well in her eyes falling from them mixing with the blood that caked the fur under her eyes and at her ears.

Dustcloud raced after Leopardclaw, close behind him. She'd heard the yowl and immediately grown worried- it could be anything from a predator to a RiverClanner, and both were terrible for the Clan. She stopped just a few tail lengths from Leopardclaw, seeing the blood and feeling a wave of shock burst through her. She'd heard the yowl, but nothing could compare to this. Her first apprentice, Lichenfang, was half dead and lying on the ground in a mess of blood and snow.Her raw throat burned even more as she spoke. "I-I... Leopardclaw... W-what can I d-do?" She was shell-shocked, and it was the only thing her mind went to.  Seeing the younger she-cats back legs torn up like that hurt her heart. She still had a life ahead of her- a good one at that. She'd seen so much the past few moons- heck, they'd been through an entire war! But this came as such a shock, she'd expected the war and prepared herself for it, she knew her kits had a scarce chance of survival, and though she wasn't prepared for it, she practically knew it was going to happen.

Birdflight ran as fast as she possibly could toward the pain-filled yowl. Orchidfeather, Leopardclaw, and Dustcloud had gotten there before her. When she laid her eyes on the mangled body of her mother, she cried out in horror. "M-Mom! M-Momma what h-happened?!" She quickly began to try and pick up Lichenfang. "D-Dad, Orchidfeather, Dustcload, h-help me! W-We need to get her b-back to camp n-now!" she pleaded with a terrified face. She was not going to lose her mother. She'll do all she can to keep her alive.

Orchidfeather blinked then moved to help"c'mon dad we need to g..get her to camp"She mewed helping lift her mother carefully.

Lichenfang since and gave a whimper as she was moved. She but back a yelp as her legs were moved. Her vision SWAM a bit and she closed her eyes.
