It's About Time! (Closed Hunting Patrol)

Sootpaw began to pace around, nose to the mud like a dog. He failed to find any sort of prey-scent fresher than two days old. As he straightened his legs and stood up, a large shadow swooped over his head, tearing a clump of long black fur from his back. He hissed in anger, pain and annoyance. First an eagle, now this? Sootpaw waited until the owl dove again, then bent his knees again and pounced while unsheathing his claws mid-air. The owl was low to the ground, so he landed easily enough on its back and knocked it rapidly into the semi-frozen mud. Before it could knock him off, Sootpaw dug his claws and gleaming teeth into the owl's neck and back.
