A Sweet, Scorched Blossom (CLOSED / SOLO)

”Well, you did just give a compliment to a she-cat,” the RiverClan apprentice pointed out smugly. She purred softly at the sudden embarrassed look on the tom’s face. She then yawned again. ”I was planning on sleeping out here anyway. You can take your rabbit back to your Clan and be on your merry little way. I suppose this won’t be the last time we see each other.”

”Well, unless I’m banned from attending the next Gathering for hunting at Fourtrees I’m sure I’ll see you there,” Scorchpaw replied.

”Sounds like a plan, then,” the RiverClan apprentice nodded in confirmation. She then looked up at him when he began dragging his rabbit away. ”Hold on! What’s your name? My name is Sweetpaw.”

Scorchpaw narrowed his eyes as he looked back down at the rabbit, contemplating on whether or not to give his name in return. This she-cat was a little annoying, but she definitely had spunk. Not to mention she seemed to appreciate what he was doing for his Clan and what he was risking to help his Clanmates. He didn’t hear any other ShadowClan cat, she-cat or tom, tell him how much they appreciated his hard work. His mind made up, he looked back up at the RiverClan apprentice and nodded to her. ”I’m Scorchpaw.”

”Well, it was certainly nice to meet you, Scorchpaw,” Sweetpaw meowed. Waving her tail to him in farewell, she approached the Great Rock again and leaped up onto it, scattering snow and sending a thin sheet of it falling to the ground. She curled up on the rock and yawned once more before burying her nose under her tail and falling asleep.

Scorchpaw left Sweetpaw to sleep, grabbing the rabbit in his jaws and hauling it away back towards ShadowClan’s territory. He hadn’t expected growing to appreciate the she-cat’s sarcasm and cleverness as much as he did. He would never tell this to anyone -- not even his own family -- but he was looking forward to seeing her again at the next Gathering.

Maybe... Maybe even before that.
