Ohana [open]

"Newtkit, Nightkit, Stoatkit," Lilacfall called out to her adopted kits. "Come on you three, you get to see the camp today," she purred.

Nightkit warily exited the safe, warm confines of the nursery, following after her mother Lilacfall's voice. The small she-kit's black fur fluffed out to compensate for the change in temperature. Her little dark face wrinkled for a moment of displeasure at the alarming brightness of the sun. In an instant, her feline eyes had adjusted to the extra light and she looked around her with veiled excitement. Leaving the nursery to explore at last! Granted, explore under supervision, but it was still an opportunity for Nightkit to discover more of her world. She stopped beside Lilacfall, standing taller and more confident at her mother's side, keeping one ear turned toward the nursery, listening for her littermates to join them as she looked around the camp in silent wonder.

There was a tiny, high-pitched grunt from the nursery. A calico kit lifted his head from the nest that he had been occupying, and scurried out of it, flicking a tiny bit of moss off of his tail. Newtkit bounced up to Lilacfall, before stopping abruptly with a shocked expression.
It was cold.
However, he tried not to complain. Warriors didn't complain about anything, right? He looked up at his mother through big yellow eyes that sparkled with eagerness to finally see the camp. Maybe he'd meet a warrior! Maybe they'd compliment him!

As two of her adopted children made their way out of the nursery, Lilacfall poked her head in - not before stopping to groom the two who had joined her outside. "Stoatkit?"

Upon Lilacfall's reentry into the nursery to call him, Stoatkit perked up and bounded out of the nursery last to meet up with his adopted siblings and mother. Pressing his black and white head against Lilacfall's warm flank for a moment before stepping away, he mewed apologetically, "Sorry, Mother." He had just been thinking to himself what kind of warrior he would be someday- maybe a strong fighter, a responsible leader, or a good hunter?- but had become too wrapped up in his musings to hear his adoptive mother's call. He had always been the most contemplative of the three kits since he had been adopted.

Like his adopted sister Nightkit, he almost immediately fluffed up his own black and white fur too due to the cold, crisp air. His eyes were still the sky blue of a young kit.
