Sharppaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Sharppaw struggled out of the apprentice den with a huff, her fluffy fur getting caught in the brambles around the entrance. She squeezed herself through and fell on her face comically. Quickly, she jumped to her feet and walked casually towards the Highrock, her ears twitching. Nobody saw that...

The white leader had to hold back a small chuckle to not put the soon-to-be-warrior in evidence before the whole clan after she fell, not wanting to ruin the cat's special day "Sharppaw, please, step forward”.

Sharppaw's brilliant eyes grew wide as she stepped forward, positively swelling with self-importance. Yes, yes yes! It was finally her time.

Blizzardstar took a deep breath “I, Blizzardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn” Her gentle eyes soon landed on the she-cat“Sharppaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”.

"I do."

Sharppaw said the words without hesitation. They tumbled from her mouth like rocks down a cliff.
Why would she hesitate?

Specklefang watched proudly as her daughter stepped up, as Blizzardstar started saying the ceremonial words. Though her happiness didn't last long, and it seemed to disappear just as quickly as it appeared. She longed to disappear back into the medicine cat den, but kept still, a smile plastered on her face though a bit strained.

Leopardclaw watched proudly as his apprentice stepped forward, shooting her an approving smile and a small nod; despite her feisty attitude, the golden spotted tom had grown quite fond of the she-cat, and was looking forward to seeing her earn the warrior name she greatly deserved.

Blizzardstar smiled and nodded approvingly before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Sharppaw, from this moment you will be known as Sharptooth. StarClan honors your bravery and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

Sharptooth's eyes sparkled with excitement. She had been expecting something boring, like Sharpfur or Sharppelt. But Sharptooth?
It was perfect.
The fluffy she-cat grinned, her chest puffing with pride as cats began to chant her new name.

"Sharptooth! Sharptooth!" Shrewpaw chanted. Running over to the new warrior, he shook his head in disbelief. "How in StarClan's name did you become a warrior before me?"
