The familiar cool chill that signaled the approach of sundown had just fallen upon the camp as Splashwillow made herself comfortable a few tail-lengths away from the warriors den. After an entire day filled with various patrols and duties, she was finding it increasingly difficult to keep her eyes open- especially now that she was finally able to relax with a full belly. Letting out a brief sigh of relief, the young she-cat stretched her forelegs out in front of her so that she could let her chin find a more comfortable resting place. Contended to simply watch the activity around camp gradually slow down as the sun slowly rank further beyond the skyline, Splashwillow did her best to push away all her clamoring thoughts within the back of her head.
Although she didn't do a very good job of that.
For within mere moments, Splashwillow was once more overcome with the confusing tangle of her personal thoughts. For the past few moons, she had nearly gone mad due to the nagging feeling that Otterleap's disappearance had birthed. She had spent the majority of her time secretly searching for traces of her father, and whatever remaining free time she had left was desperately thrown into patrols. And yet, despite all of her worst thoughts and fears, her father had been returned to her; completely intact at that. But for some reason, the nagging feeling still remained, although this time it was centered around a different tom. Ever since a chance encounter on a patrol with Rainstorm, every time she saw the tom, it felt like her heart was going to beat out her chest. Or like her skin was on fire beneath her fur. Or like her knees were going to give out beneath her- or some other incredibly embarrassing reaction.
Letting out a short little huff of frustration, Splashwillow lifted her head once more and began to idly paw at the soft dirt underpaw in an attempt to distract herself from the storm of thoughts currently going through her head.
