Wolfkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Magpiestar leapt onto the Jaggedrock, his voice void of any emotion. "L-Let all cats old enough to capture their own p-prey join here b-beneath the J-Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Eagerly hopping to his paws, Wolfkit proudly strode from the shelter of the nursery, unable to disguise the anticipation that plagued his bouncy steps. Slithering to a halt below the Jagged Rock, the little tom quickly settled himself in Magpiestar's line of sight, wiggling slightly in excitement as he waited for the tom to start the ceremony.

Magpiestar's eyes drifted away from the little tom as he padded towards the Jaggedrock. "W-Wolfkit, please step forward..."

He couldn't force himself to look the kit in the eyes. Wolfkit... he was a perfect reminder of those recently lost. The tom was a pure blend of his father, Mousefang, and the leader's predecessor, Leopardstar, the kit's own great-grandfather. It was as if the world was taunting him. Worst of all, he was reminded of a younger version of himself. A short visit to Foxheart and her only son had shown him just what the kit wanted in life. Like he had been when he was just Magpiekit, Wolfkit dreamed of being leader.

His aspirations were pure and holy. He wanted to keep his hopes untainted like his own had become.

Oblivious to the way that Magpiestar avoided his gaze, Wolfkit could only stare up at the darkly colored tom eyes that were wide with anticipation. After all of those long nights spent tossing and turning in the nursery, dreaming of this ceremony, it was finally here! He was finally an apprentice at last! At Magpiestar's summons, Wolfkit eagerly took a step forward.

magpiestar had an emotional struggle as he saw himself in the tom so he decided it was only fitting to make him into his own apprentice.

"Y-You have reached the age of six moons, and are n-now ready to be a-apprenticed. From this day f-forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be k-known as W-Wolfpaw. I-I s-shall mentor you."
