Watership Down
It's regarded as one of the modern fantasy classics and has been a worldwide bestseller for OVER FORTY STRAIGHT YEARS. It follows a small group of rabbits that have abandoned their home warren in search of a better territory (huh I believe there was a whole subseries based on this concept in Warriors) due to one of the rabbits' prophesy dream thingy (reminds me of some mechanic in the Warriors series that I may or may not have heard of) that the original warren would be destroyed by Twolegs (hmm heard of this one too). They do this against the warren leader's wishes (much like a Clan leader, actually) and are incredibly discouraged from doing so by the Owsla or senior warriors (now where have I heard of sentient animal warriors before?). Along the way they meet and fight other warrens (much like many different clans), make unlikely allies (much like loners, in a way), and unravel lore about rabbit's descendants (much like, well, you get the idea). I mean, there's even a reference to something very akin to the likes of StarClan, except for rabbits. Here's the thing, Watership Down was written more than thirty years before Into The Wild. I mean, the Warriors series has it's own merit sure, but I have quite good reason to believe that the Warriors series was largely inspired by this book. It's not surprising, really, because this book is quite good. I mean, it's been a bestseller for over 40 years in a row! Go read it! https://www.amazon.com/Watership-Down-Novel-Richard-Adams/dp/0743277708 |

| Well Watership Down has a much darker and more disturbed tone and really dark implications than Warriors. Watership down was also written to symbolize fascism and other totalitarian regimes. It has some supremely dark undertones, not at all kid-friendly. It and it's sibling, Plague Dogs, also bring out really dark aspects of humanity in it. While there is a connection and its very likely that the Erins were inspired by it, the tone feels a lot different to me.
Don't even get me started on the movie. Straight nightmare fuel. ______________________________________ "Whenever someone tells you life is short, they're wrong. Life isn't short.
