| "Tonight we gather to make these apprentices warriors." Leopardstar announced when the clan had gathered and he spotted the apprentices in question. "Sootpaw, Nightpaw, step forward." He paused to let them do as they were commanded. "I, Leopardstar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices.They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriora in their turn. Sootpaw, Nightpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The leader asked gravely.

| "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Sootpaw, you shall now be known as Sootcloud. ShadowClan honors your ferocity and loyalty. Nightpaw, you shall be called Nightfoot. ShadowClan honors your kindness and enthusiasm." The leader jumped down and rested his muzzle on the new warriors' heads in succession, completing the ceremony.

Nightfoot raised her head, proud and excited. She turned towards her brother, a smile on her face. "Nightfoot," she murmed to herself, almost as if in a dream.
Sootcloud proudly looked at his sister, eyes shining bright. This was the moment he had been waiting for. This was the moment that he knew would forever change his life. |
