Dawnpaw's Assessment

With a bird in his mouth, Dawnpaw strode up to Brindlewhisker. "Done!" he said, words muffled by feathers.

Brindlewhisker had been following behind Dawnpaw for the majority of his assessment, keeping well out of sight as she observed her son's progress in the test, eyes narrowed as she watched intently. She had only allowed herself a brief moment of satisfaction as she watched him bring down the first rabbit, but she had observed the rest of his failures and successes with a calculating mind. Once he brought down the final piece of requested prey, Brindlewhisker had slipped away from her hiding place and strode to meet Dawnpaw with a look of praise upon her face. "You did very well," She allotted the brief affectionate praise before whisking on, "Let's go gather the rest of your prey up before something else gets to it and then head back to camp- I believe we have a ceremony to orchestrate." The Deputy mewed before striding away.
