The Lichen's Bird and orchids(open )

Leopardclaw quickly noticed his mate's visible sadness at the mention of their lost daughter, and met her mossy green gaze with sympathetic eyes. If he didn't have their two newest offspring riding on his head he would've gone over to nuzzle her comfortingly, but at Birdkit's curious question he found a happy way to change the subject. Smiling, he tried his best to look up at his daughters as he began to explain. "Reedpaw and Honeypaw are your older siblings! They're both apprentices; Reedpaw is training to become a warrior like your dad, and Honeypaw is training to become a medicine cat." He took a deep breath before continuing; "Medicine cats can talk to StarClan. StarClan is a great clan that lives in the night sky, and when you die, as long as you haven't broken the Warrior Code, you get to join them and watch over the clans forever." He raised his paw to the currently bright blue sky, sweeping it across before placing it firmly back on the ground. "You're...you're sister Cherrykit lives in StarClan." Ears drooping, Leopardclaw felt another wave of emotion come over him; some grief never truly goes away.

Something came over Birdkit. She never felt anything like this before. Even if she never met Cherrykit, she felt a strange bond. Cherrykit was probably something special. She looked up and smiled. Hoping all the cats in StarClan could've seen it especially Cherrykit. Deep inside her she felt guilty for bringing this up, after seeing her parents' expressions at the mention of their beloved Cherrykit, but she had to know. "How was Cherrykit? Before she left to Starclan?" she asked them. She wanted them to relive good memories about Cherrykit. She'd lose herself if anything happened to Orchidkit or her parents and even her other siblings. She couldn't imagine how hard it must feel to lose someone. She nuzzled her father hoping that that would soothe him. She then proceeded to climb off her father and head over to her mother where she lied beside her purring.

Reedpaw heard some time ago that his mother was going to give birth to another litter so he went outside early that day to catch a good prey for Lichenfang and his future siblings. The pale golden cat walked into the camp with two well-fed squirrels and searched the white and gray fur of his mother. He was surprised when he saw that she was with Leopardclaw and two other kittens.
The tom approached the happy family and greeted his parents with a nod. However, he soon realized that Leoparclaw was sad about something. He left the two squirrels close to his mother and glanced at the older tom. "Dad, is everything okay?"

Lichenfang was quiet for a moment letting her expression change back to its solemn state. Looking to her daughter she nuzzled her."well she kind of looked like you She was kind and sweet...."Lichenfang trailed off when she heard pawsteps and seen her son Reedpaw. "Thank you Reedpaw"She mewed quietly.

Orchidkit stayed on her father's head and glanced down to Reedpaw. Blinking she tilted her head"Hi"she squeaked looking at him.

The pale golden she cat was quiet for a moment as she had begun sorting through there in the smoke smudged den. She had foolishly hoped that any herbs had survived but dome of them difmdnt and it made the apprentice nervous. Some of the things she just didn't know what to do and without a mentor now she wasn't sure she was just glad she managed to learn her herbs and what they did and how they helped. After a little bit she decided to head out but not before checking on her mother whom had kits she had seen first hand when she had helped her give birth to them. Smiling a bit Honeypaw made her way over to them after leaving the den.

"Hello, little sister. I'm Reedpaw, your older brother. I'm happy to finally meet you." He said smiling to the kit that just noticed over the head of Leoparclaw. He was pretty curious about those little she-cats that now joined the family so suddenly. The apprentice liked the idea of having a bigger family and he was going to make sure that he would protect them always as his bigger brother.
The pale golden cat turned his sight to Lichenfang and smiled at her. "You're welcome, mom. I really hope you like it."

Birdkit was happy to finally see Reedpaw. Seeing her sister greet him, she now wanted to greet him too. She stealthily, or tried to be since she was in full view, crept towards Reedpaw and pounced on his tail. "Hi!" she squeaked. She then started to roll on the ground nuzzle against her older brother affectionately.

The pale golden cat felt the paws of the other she-cat on his tail before he could hear her greeting. He turned his head back to her and smiled playfully. With his left paw, the apprentice nudged the little head of the kit, brotherly. "Hi, sis. You really are an energetic kit! I'm sure that you will be a great apprentice if you keep that energy. What's your name?" Reedpaw purred, messing a little bit more the head's hair of the kitten. He actually didn't know the names of his new sisters so he wanted to learn them quick so they could know each other better.

The little calico kit purred playfully at her brother's gesture. At hearing her brother's question, "My names Birdkit!" she chirped. She then remembered something and quickly asked, with a puzzeled expression, "What's an apprentice?"

Honeypaw blinked quietly unsure what no one had noticed the medicine cat apprentice. Hearing her sister Birdkit's words she smiled"an apprentice a young cat who trains to become a warrior or in rare cases like me,which is training to be a medicine cat"Honeypaw mewed."you have to be six moons old though to become an apprentice"she mewed smiling some.

Birdkit jumped hearing an extra voice in her and Reedpaw's conversation. She turned towards the young, Honey-colored medicine cat. She smiled and jumped up excitedly. "Hello Honeypaw!!" she squeaked happily. She walked towards her and nuzzled her with affection. Remembering what Honeypaw said she sulked a bit. "Why can't I be an apprentice now? Why at six moons?" Birdkit asked.

Reedpaw nodded at her twin sister as a greeting. They were always pretty close but their different type of training led them to different paths that not always crossed. "Because you're still too little to train outside the camp. It can be dangerous if you don't have the strength to fight against te obstacles that might appear out there. So, the six moons of age are the ideal time for you to be an apprentice and go out to explore the territories. You must be patient." He purred with a smile.

Birdkit purred softly. "Alright. I will be patient." she said with a soft smile. She now knew why things were ment to be a certain way. She crouched down in a playful pose. "In the while I wait to be an apprentice, I can practice getting strong!" the little kit said with a playful glint in her eyes.
