Encounters [Closed]

Smokestripe blinked in the morning light, his tail flickering as he fought back a yawn. It was late for a ShadowClan cat - he certainly wished he was curled up in his nest but had decided to take a walk...Admittedly there was something nice about the sunrise, the way it painted the sky in a hue of colors that he rarely saw. The ground beneath started to shift away from the marshy landscape to the more solid ground that led to the SkyClan border. Smokestripe halted as he tasted the air, only a few tail-lengths away from the marked border as he tried to figure out if anything was out of place.

There was a cat laying in wait. If Smokestripe cared to sniff, he would smell a particularly strong SkyClan stink, the kind that one smelled when a SkyClan cat was present. Eyes narrowed to slits stared at him through a bush, hostility clearly present within them. Earlier that morning, a newly-appointed warrior named Dandeliondapple had clashed with the SkyClan deputy and her father, Rippedsky. He'd confronted her about how she was acting after she'd become a warrior. She'd stormed off towards the border, saying that the other Clans deserved no mercy. And here she was, about to show no mercy. Instantly, she sprung out.

She made sure not to land on Smokestripe, but got close enough so that he would be frightened by the sudden appearance of another cat. "What are you doing here, carrion-eater!"

Smokestripe had caught the scent of the SkyClan cat but had through little of it...Until the she-cat made herself known by launching herself at him. He stumbled backwards with a gasp, quickly collecting himself as his ears fell flat at the insult. "There is no need to resort to such rude name calling," he mumbled as he took a few steps back, tasting the air just to make sure he hadn't accidentally crossed the border. One he was rather certain that he was very much on his own side, he frowned at the she-cat. "I'm just checking the borders, nothing more."

"More like trying to invade SkyClan, huh! I bet that's what you're really doing." Dandeliondapple growled, edging closer. Her claws were unsheathed, shredding the ground as she flexed her claws. "Besides, if you were really checking the boarders, you'd be in a proper patrol! You're doing an awful job at lying!"

Smokestripe blinked in surprise as the she-cat started to growl at him, taking small steps backwards. "I-Invade?" he stammered, his tail swishing as his ears fell flat in panic. "I-I'm not trying to invade!" He shifted uncomfortable, not really having an answer to her second statement. It...It was true, he really should have been on a proper patrol but he wanted the fresh air and had simply decided to check the borders as an after-through. "I may not be on a patrol but I am not lying," he retorted timidly as he spared a glance behind him, wondering if it would be rude just to bolt...But that would just make him look suspicious, wouldn't it? "There isn't a need to fight! I-I'll just leave if I am causing that much of a problem. I'm not looking for any trouble."

"Well you found it!" screeched Dandeliondapple, leaping to close the distance between them and striking Smokestripe with her front paw.

Smokestripe was about to open his mouth to say something else when the she-cat gave out a screech, his eyes turning to pinpoints at her words. "W-Wait!" That was all he managed to get out as claws raked across his face as the young warrior jumped at him, forcing him back with a gasp. He took another step backwards as he fixed his gaze onto her, trying to catch his breath as he winced from the pain. He...He didn't want to do this. He really didn't but he had a feeling that he wasn't really being given a choice. "I'm sorry," he muttered softly as he crouched down only to throw himself at the much younger she-cat with claws out - doing his best not to leave any lasting wounds.

Smokestripe stumbled backwards as the SkyClan warrior raked her claws across his pelt, biting back a sharp whimper of pain. He...He had never really been in a fight before - not like this but there was almost a flicker of annoyance that swelled up within him. It didn't matter how strong this warrior thought she was - she was younger then him and inexperienced. Smokestripe certainly didn't like to fight but it wasn't like he didn't know how to. He didn't say anything as he swung out at her, hoping to end this battle fast so that they could go their separate ways.

Smokestripe uses Upright Front Paws on Dandliondapple, dealing 13 damage and costing 20 stamina.

Realizing she was going to be beaten, Dandeliondapple fell limp and pretended to be unconscious. Then, out of nowhere, she sprang to life and clawed at Smokestripe viciously.

When the SkyClan warrior went limp, Smokestripe's eyes narrowed as he started to pull away. He didn't believe for a second that he had truly knocked her out but if it was a chance that this would be the end of the fight...He allowed himself to relax and was about to turn and head back to the territory when claws met his fur once again as she sprung at him. He bit back a hiss as he stumbled away, shaking his head at the sharp pain that was left by the attack.

She wasn't holding back at all with her attacks unlike him - she didn't care how much damage she did but her recklessness was nothing compared to the moons of skill he had on her.  With an annoyed hiss, he reared backwards before he brought his paws down toward the warrior's head. "Stop fighting, you aren't going to win this!" he growled, wishing that she would just give up and flee - he wasn't enjoying this fight at all but she had to learn that she had made the wrong choice in attacking him for doing nothing.
