No Rest From The Wicked. [Open, Darkstar/Blizzardshine needed]

Falconpaw's whole body shook, the whites of his eyes in fill view. Every few moments, he'd halt and freeze up, crumpling to the ground from the stress and fear. Jittery and crying, he finally did it, he'd dragged the body of Cloudstorm to Sunningrocks. The apprentice was too small to keep her out the ash, causing her to be caked in it as well as blood. Lots of blood. Her mangled features, broken jaw, half of her tail chewed off. It looked like a pack of dogs attacked and left the scraps for foxes. Dropping the body, he swallowed dryly. "C-cloudstorm.. Cloudstorm is d-dead!" He yowled, voice breaking as he succumbed to his shaking body and crumbled next to her.

Adderkit whom was over near the nursery or where the queens and kits resided, playing with a leaf when Falconpaw came in with her mother. The charcoal she kit blinked eyes widening as she heard the exclamation. Ears flat against her fluffy head the she kit ran to her mother's side and looked up at Falconpaw tears brimming her eyes.

Daykit looked up from where he was chasing a moth and ran over huddling against his sister and staring at their mothers dead body. He let out a little whimper and buried his face into his sisters fur. The dark brown and gray tabby cried and he sure as heck hated the way he felt right now. He was usually so happy and optimistic but how could he be at a time like this? A time where his mother was torn to pieces and had bled to death. He vowed at this very moment, on his mothers blood that was slowly forming a small puddle of blood on the ground, that he would get revenge for whoever or whatever had done this to his beloved mother. Not that he could to anything to Rockthorn bc he's eviiiiiillll

She wished someone calling her name wouldn't always be so fear-inducing. One day. On one day she wanted someone to yell "Darkstar!" and she would be delighted by what she saw. That was all she wished. The leader had scented blood. She'd prayed to StarClan that it was just freshkill, but it never was. The she-cat turned slowly to face Falconpaw and Cloudstorm's mangled form, tentatively moving towards the warrior. Darkstar knew exactly what had done this, so she didn't bother to ask how. "Where did you find her. Where did his scent lead." Yellow eyes focused only on the she-cat's bloody pelt and nothing else.

Adderkit ears flat against her head and tears in her eyes let her brother get close to her. The she kit couldn't believe that their mother was dead.

Blizzardshine had been taking a small rest from her activities near the edges of the temporary camp the clan had made up at Sunningrocks, her aching paws soaking on the clear water of the river as she relaxed on the smooth rocks. She had only heard tales about how relaxing it could be to take sunbaths in this specific piece of territory, but now that she got to experience it she could tell this was way better than she had imagined. As the water cleaned the soot from her paws and revealed the almost fully healed slashes from the thorns, she allowed her thoughts a small rest as well, leaving her mind completely empty. For the first time since the day Rockthorn had gotten his death sentence, she found herself at peace.

Just as she closed her eyes and started to drift to a light slumber, Falconpaw’s voice echoed across the rocky clearing, caused the startled deputy to stumble upon her paws with claws unsheathed and fur standing on end, heart beating quickly against her chest as she frantically looked around to see what was going on…only for her gaze to land on Cloudstorm’s mauled body.

For several seconds she just stood there with an almost idiotic expression of confusion and shock, it wasn’t until Darkstar spoke that she broke out from her trance, shaking her head and getting closer. Her eyes were open wide, and the closer she got the stiffer her muscles got. She, however, forced her paws to carry her towards the body of the kind hearted queen, the smell of blood and awful injuries on her causing her to feel a strong nausea and a lump on her throat.

It felt like forever for the white deputy to get at her deceased friend’s side, tears blurring her vision as she pressed her nose against her pelt like a small kit who couldn’t understand what was going on. Cloudstorm was as cold as the ice coating the river over Leafbare, it…it was simply not right. For someone like her that could melt the coldest of hearts just with one of her beautiful smiles…it was just not right.

“W-who….why?” Blizzardshine’s words were barely audible, her voice changing pitch constantly and trembling way too much for her to formulate a single phrase successfully, and struggling just to find words in the chaos that was her head at the time. She looked at the kits as they approached to mourn the loss of their mother, her long tail wrapping itself protectively around as many as it could. They were left without a father several sunhighs ago…and now they were forced to watch the mauled body of their mother. No kit deserved such a cruel start on their lives.

Daykit buried his face into Bluzzardshines fur. He couldn't stand to look at his mother like this. He wanted to remember her smiling and laughing and happy, not broken, and torn and bloody.

Adderkit looked away unable to look at the tattered remains of what was there mother. The charcoal spotted she kit moved closer to Blizzardshine and hiding her face.

Falconpaw's eyes widened apologetically​ when he saw the kits huddle together in grief, painful memories of Raven hitting him. "I-i didn't check his s-scent. I-i can go b-back if you need, ma'am." He meowed his answer to Darkstar. "I-i found her i-in the middle of the t-territory." He took in a shaky breath, "R-rockthorn isn't g-going to stop anytime s-soon. W-we have to be careful." The tom looked at Blizzardshine's grief stricken face and rested his muzzle on Cloudstorm. He remembered the time Hawkpaw forced him to talk to her and the kits while he busied himself with playing with the young ones. A nice calm and light-hearted conversation about how well she was doing raising them so happily. He had warned her to not let them feel loneliness, to always be there for them. So they didn't feel like him.

Leopardclaw had been dozing in the fading sunlight near the edge of the rocks, now ThunderClan's home, when he heard the padding of approaching paws; joined by the ominous rustle of fur being dragged along the ground.  Head jolting upright, the spotted warrior quickly caught sight of the fallen queen; and couldn't help the nauseous churning that overtook his stomach.  The formerly white she-cat's pelt was soaked with thick red blood, and her body was mutilated and torn beyond saving.  Anyone could see at once that there was no hope for Cloudstorm.  

Speechless, Leopardclaw stalked forward until he came face to face with the glassy, lifeless eyes of his enemy's former mate, permanently frozen in a soundless cry for mercy.  Claws scraping against the cold stone, the golden tom-cat's shocked hazel eyes stared, unfocused, down at the ground as he shook his head hopelessly.  Oh StarClan, when will he stop?  Is there any line that Rockthorn won't cross?  Not only did he murder his own mate, he took away the mother of his own children! Doesn't he care about them at least?  No...he made it very clear that he feels nothing for his kin, for anyone.  A cat bound by no love or honor....is the most dangerous.

"Why didn't I just kill him when I had the chance?"  A flame of fury began burn in his eyes, his growl laced with guilt.  "I could've stopped all of this....all of this pain and death....."  Choking up, Leopardclaw trailed off and turned away, his paws tensing as he tried to dig his claws into the rocky surface beneath them.  Was saving his pitiful life in the end.....really worth it?  My conscience isn't clear either way....

"D-don't d-d-d-do that Le-leopardclaw. R-rockthorn escaped." he rasped and used his paw to wipe away his own tears. He drew a shaking breath and sobbed for a moment. Then, he backed away, he couldn't stand the blood anymore and he wouldn't forgive himself if he vomited on the dead queen. His stutter had rushed back at full force at the sight of another dead mother at his paws. And once again, it was a dead mother's blood in Rockthorn's mouth.
