Sweet Dreams are Made of This [Open]

Quickkit poked her head out of the nursery, nervous about stepping out for the first time. Looking around, the camp looked absolutely massive, especially to a little kit. She set one paw down outside the nursery, allowing her paw to feel the ground beneath it. It felt weird, but she liked it. It made her feel like she could actually do something, instead of being shoved in the nursery. One after another, she brought the rest of her paws out and took a sigh of relief. She was finally out of the nursery. Now she could do anything! She started off by wandering towards the fresh-kill pile, seeing if any clanmates were getting a meal.

Sitting by the freshkill pile with his head hung over his shoulders, Ryecloud began to doze off. Now that he had an apprentice of his own, life wasn't as relaxed with all of the patrols and training he had to conduct. So, taking a midday snooze wasn't such a bad idea. Besides, training either happened in the morning or evening, so he had some time to spare while Brackenpaw did his daily apprentice duties.

Hearing something rustle beside him, the grey and white tom's head shot up and he looked around, soon spotting a kit that seemed to be eyeing the pile of prey. "Twying to met gum fwood?" the crooked jawed warrior mewed softly, wondering where the younger cat's parents were.

Quickkit scrunched up her face after hearing the older cat speak. But she nodded without speaking, knowing how rude it was to point out how the cat spoke. "Y-yeah," she said. "I'm Quickkit," She didn't want to let the cat know she was just curious about who was around, especially since she was too nervous to talk to most others.

While Ryecloud had his "setbacks," it didn't mean that he was totally heartless and although most kits looked at him weirdly, he still enjoyed being around their innocence. Listening to the younger cat, a soft smile grew on his muzzle. No matter what personality they had, kits were always so curious and he admired their bravery for wanting to explore the world even though they didn't have a clue as to what they were getting themselves into. But this she-kit on the other hand seemed to be more shy and meek than the others, just like he was and still is.

"Mell... mits arbn't subbosed to meat fwesh mill," the warrior mewed softly and shifted his weight off of his limp leg that laid awkwardly to the side, hoping that she'd be able to understand him even though he'd tried his best to speak as normal as possible. While she was only a newborn kit, Ryecloud wondered if the two of them would get along decently because of their similar nature. Maybe so, maybe not, only time would tell, and while he prayed that they would become friends, if not, then it wasn't a big deal, seeing that he wasn't exactly "friends" with many other cats, so what difference was one more kit that thought he was a total weirdo?

Quickkit scrunched up her nose. She was allowed to at least try fresh-kill. "I-I'm almost an apprentice," she muttered indignantly, too shy to raise her voice. She had almost forgotten that coming over here wasn't even to get food in the first place; she still just wanted to explore, although she didn't mind talking to the older cat.

Stagkit and Fawnkit followed the angsty kit out of the nursery, but hung back as she talked to an older warrior. Fawnkit's ears perked as if to say to her brother 'not yet.' Stagkit nodded, agreeing. The pair were interesting, oh yes. They were so close they could almost, if not could, read each other's minds. Finally, the two nodded to each other and trotted in time to the freshkill pile.

"We'll share a mouse as well." Stagkit said with a nod, picking out a small mouse and tossing it to his sister, who caught it with a bit of an issue.
