Shadepaw and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Empty
PostSubject: Shadepaw and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day   Shadepaw and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day EmptyTue 9 May 2017 - 23:58

Shadepaw, not for the first time, had strayed away from the patrol with which she was hunting; she was on a constant quest to bring back more prey than her clan-mates, often challenging anyone who was interested to a bet over it. She often lost these bets to warriors, but it never seemed to stop her from going at it again, and today was no exception. She had determined that there was no way she would bring back the most prey unless she found somewhere nice and far away to hunt, without having to compete for prey with her clan mates or worry about their voices scaring the prey away. So, she was creeping through the grass, and could see Fourtrees not far ahead. She glanced around, uncertain--could she hunt there? She wasn't sure, so it was with slight uncertainty that she continued creeping closer.
She stopped short, her ears picking up a slight scuffling--a rabbit. Shadepaw loved catching rabbits. She loved the exileration of chasing after them, and the immense satisfaction that came from finally catching a particularly fast or agile one. Granted, this may have been because she was still learning, and her ratio off successes to failures was severely in favor of the latter, but still. She gave chase once she was close enough, and chased the rabbit all the way to Fourtrees, finally catching it in the shade of one of the massive oaks. She purred happily and whipped around, only to slam right into the flank of another cat. "Ouch, hey, you better not have followed me here!" She mewed heatedly, "That's..." She trailed off, suddenly realizing that she did not know the cat she had run into.

Rockthorn had followed a Windclan apprentice, suspicion curdling in his guts as he watched the she-cat just go where-ever she pleased. Didn't she know that Four-trees was his place to meet his friends? Though this was a very traumatizing area for him, despite it being an area of neutrality he gave a snarl. Possessiveness of the area made him want to mark all around, making it his. But with his attempt at sunningrocks, he wouldn't be able to go against the rest of the clans.

Rockthorn sauntered down as the apprentice made her kill, a snarl breaking from his throat as he looked down at her before she collided with his chest and regarded him with aggression. How dare she!? Snapping his jaws around her scruff he pushed her face into the dirt, dragging it against rocks and dirt before pulling her head up and driving it into the roots of the nearby oak tree. Releasing her briefly he gave her a moment of hope of escape before squashing it quickly.

Bashing the Windclan apprentice into the dirt he spun her so she lay on her back, claws pinned her down as he slowly enveloped his around her muzzle making it as slow and agonizing as possible before being forced to shake his head back and forth teeth tearing and ripping a lot like Bear had done to him. He quickly changed objectives, spitting out a chunk of flesh and ripping his teeth across her face. Moving ever closer before her eye, holding her face down he bit into it his teeth buried in flesh before ripping away her eye the flesh above and below it. He spat out the flesh and now torn to shreds eye, forcibly moving her head to rip apart the other side of her face taking her ears with it.

It was a blood bath, there was blood covering his face and the cat below him was nearly unrecognizable, blood seemed to cover everything. But he wasn't satisfied, picking the she-cat up by her throat he bashed her head into the trunk and roots of the great oak over and over again till blood seemed to soak the bark; only then was he satisfied. Snorting Rockthorn stepped away, leaving the carnage behind him not at all realizing that he was missing a few clumps of fur. What he had done was gratifying, it made him aware of how strong he was and now he was mentally prepared to rip apart Leopardclaw. For real this time. So, he made his way to Thunderclan camp.

Shadepaw knew, from the moment the words left her mouth, that it was a mistake--the cat that she had bumped into was not from Windclan, he must have been twice her size, and he was not friendly. She opened her mouth to retract her words, hoping to avoid a confrontation, but it was too late--she let out a shocked yelp when she was picked up, and she thrashed in the tom's jaws, trying to free herself, but it was no use. She tried to dig her claws into his skin, but only managed to pull out a few tufts of his fur before she felt a searing pain across her muzzle; she wailed in pain, but the noise sounded faraway, distant... She knew she must have been losing consciousness, and everything was dark. She had no idea if she was already halfway unconscious, or if the tom had blinded her with his claws, but she had very little time to think about this, because she finally (blessedly) lost consciousness when her head collided with something (the ground, a tree, a rock, she had no idea).

Splotchpaw was on the patrol Shadepaw had been on when he heard a scream, luckily he was separated as well from it. Wanting to try for lusher fields, but instead what he found was just plain foul. The stench of blood thick on his tongue, spinning around he called for the patrol. "Help! Shadepaw's seriously injured!" The young apprentice cried, bleating as he ran back to the patrol repeating his words over and over before spinning around once more and leading the way.

Weaselpaw had been one of the apprentices on that patrol also, and while Splotchpaw (although he hadn't gone terribly far) and Shadepaw had ventured off on their own, he'd trotted close along the warriors. He felt his paws tugging him towards the other apprentices, but he couldn't be bothered with running off that day. But when he heard a distant scream- that he would've thought was a bird call if he didn't know better -he pricked his ears. Splotchpaw came running back to confirm his suspicions, crying for help. He wasn't a warrior by any stretch, but he tore off after Splotchpaw regardless.
