Bearkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leopardstar stood, once again, on top of the Jaggedrock. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey join here beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" He called, pleased that there was yet another youngster beginning their journey to warriorship. He had absolutely no concerns about this young tom whatsoever. None at all.

Flamestrike padded into the clearing at Leopardstar's call. He sat near the edge, fairly disinterested in the whole thing. Apprentice ceremonies used to be an exciting time for him. The flame orange tom remembered his many moons as a kit and his own surprise and excitement at being able to finally start training. Once, seeing that joy in younger cats made him reminiscent of his own time. However, everything that had happened recently had stripped him of his quiet happiness. The warrior's tail flicked slightly as he stared straight ahead with glazed over eyes, simply waiting for another ceremony to be finished.

Bearkit peeked out of the nursery at Leopardstar's call, then quickly ran out into the clearing. He knew he would be becoming an apprentice that day, and excitement was coursing through him--finally, one step closer to becoming a warrior! He could start learning how to fight, how to properly defend his clan, and maybe, finally start earning some respect from his clan-mates. So, he joined the growing crowd around the Jaggedrock, quickly making sure his fur was smooth and sitting up tall.

Leopardstar saw Bearkit in the gathered crowd and then began. "Bearkit, step forward." He meowed, pausing slightly to allow him time to respond. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to begin training. From this moment until you receive your warrior name, you shall be called Bearpaw. Ambernose will be your mentor. May she pass on all of her skill and temperance." He finished, nodding to the she-cat.

Ambernose had blinked lingering in the back near the warriors den. Though the former queen stood to her paws and padded over to the dark furred apprentice."training starts early in the morning"she mewed as she touched noses with her first apprentice.
