Duskkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather underneath tallbranch for a clan meeting!" The black and white tom yowled from up on tallbranch. It was time for his adoptive daughter to finally be named as an apprentice. Rippedsky was happy to be doing his own kit's ceremony. While they weren't related by blood, the tom had taken her under his care after the death of her parents. She felt like his own. His blue eyes shined as they glanced over the assembling cats, looking for the familiar pelt. It would start as soon as she arrived.

Pansyface's head popped out of the warriors den at Rippedsky's call, her murky eyes gleaming with curiosity. It must be an apprentice ceremony, I wonder who the lucky kit is? Stepping out, the patched molly found a place in the sun to sit, surrounded by her other clanmates. Gazing around, she realized that she was one of the few cats out of her friends that had never had an apprentice. Rippedsky, Addergaze, Cloverleaf....maybe it will be my turn next!

The smoky dusk colored she kit with a darker Mark and paws and tail came from the nursery her darkish fur groomed as best as she could get it her longish legs carried her to the center where she sat and looked up at her father. Adopted yes but she didn't care he was her father in her eyes. Quietly wrapping her tail around her paws quietly.

Rippedsky smiled down reassuringly at Duskkit. His mentor choice had appeared as well. It was certainly time she had a young cat to train as her own; Rippedsky wanted the best for his adoptive daughter. Once more his voice rang through the clearing, "Again we gather to make a kit an apprentice. Duskkit, you have reached six moons. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Duskpaw. Pansyface will be you mentor. I know she will pass on all of her skill and knowledge to you." With that, he leaped down to congratulate his kit and Pansyface. He could not wait to see their training togther.

Duskpaw blinked before she smiled a tiny but and looked to Pansyfacr. The fluffy longish legged she cat went and touched noses with her new mentor

As if her thoughts had poured over into the real world, Pansyface heard Rippedsky call her name as Duskpaw's mentor, and excitement quickly flooded her green eyes. Standing up, the slender gray and white patched she-cat approached her new apprentice and touched noses with her, before purring. "I can't wait to start our training!" Almost sounding as excited as the newly named 'paw', Pansyface turned and dipped her head to the deputy, with a thankful and reassuring look. She knew that Rippedsky cared about his adopted daughter like any other of his children, and she was honored that he chose her to be his kit's mentor. My adopted niece...this is going to be awesome!
