Fourtrees. How long had it been since he had been here?

Rainstorm padded around the misty morning clearing. The slight squish of mud under his paws felt more satisfying than anything else. Newleaf was here. RiverClan always thrived with the arrival of fresh, young prey and commonly wet weather. Even the Fourtrees wasn't safe from the rain. The clearing had become dotted with small ponds and muddy dirt. Just the way he liked it.

A light mist clung to the air as he circled the area. Small rain droplets clung to his musty pelt as he made his way to each border, sniffing and making sure his silent enjoyment would not be disturbed. As he approached WindClan's slope, a strong scent made it's way into his nose. His face stiffened, but he didn't move.

He told himself not to be the aggressor. It was key in gaining back the trust he lost long ago. "Who's there?" the tom called, his tone void of any emotion.

Hazefur had wandered past her clans borders, basically taking a simple stroll with no planned destination. Camp life had been dull so the she-cat hoped to stumble across something interesting.

As she padded along, Hazefur realized she had grown close to the well known gathering location, Fourtrees. She paused on the outskirts of the clearing, tail flicking back and forth as she scented the air. That's when it hit her, she wasn't alone. At first, the warrior found herself a bit startled, but relaxed, even if it wasn't a full moon, Fourtrees was still a fairly peaceful place, plus, she hadn't done anything to anger any cat from another clan.

She perked her ears a call rang out from the clearing. Staying quiet at first, Hazefur slunk forward. "Hello?" She mewed in a slightly confused tone, Giving an answer to the anonymous call. She prayed whoever this cat was they wouldn't bring harm.

While the tom's muscles were initially stiff, the soft tone of the stranger's voice calmed him. The she-cat's confusion carried no hostility at all. Letting his body and voice relax, he fell back onto his hind legs and swiped his tongue over one of his paws. Rainstorm glanced up towards the source of the voice with bright, yellow-green eyes.

She was a pretty young she-cat. Pale grey and white with very confident green eyes. Her frame was small yet still stood tall. Perhaps even taller than himself, although he couldn't tell as she crouched towards him. His eyes narrowed slightly as he stared into hers. She was pretty. Too pretty.

Ignoring the slight rise in his heart beat, the tom cocked his head and shifted his paws on the ground. "Don't worry. As much as WindClan's been a bother to us, I wouldn't hurt a young she-cat like yourself."

The tip of Hazefur's tail twitched as she cast a quick glance behind her, wondering if there were any others about. The she-cat then turned her attention back to the RiverClan tom as he began to speak, his words held a relaxed tone, that was good, he seemed to have good intentions. She took a few steps closer, stealing a look at the sleek tom before offering a response.

Like every other RiverClan cat his fur was sleek with a certain shine to it thanks to the pale glow of the rising sun. He was well muscled, which easily could have been expected, which made him just a bit more tempting.

Hazefur shook out her pelt and stayed where she was. "Good to hear..." She said in a low tone, which really could have been a purr. "May I ask who you might be?" The warrior questioned the tom, she swore she had seen him at a gathering before, but it was impossible to tell in a full moon's light who was really who, and even if she had seen him before, Hazefur had no idea what his name was.

"Rainstorm," the tom replied, nodding his head in greeting. His ears flicked lightly at her tone. Was that... a purr? His ears could have been plugged with water from his hunts yesterday, but from what he could tell her voice held a more comfortable ring than he had ever heard from a stranger.

Stranger still, that simple timbre made him want to smile. Forcing himself to shake those thoughts away, he stood and stretched. Perhaps he needed to move around to clear his head of these silly thoughts. "What about yourself? What do they call you?"

The warrior paused before answering, watching as the dusty grey tom got to his paws. "Hazefur," she nodded her head a bit, not taking her eyes from Rainstorm. "Nice you meet you." The she-cat spoke again in a smooth tone, yet revealed nothing that could give away her thoughts on the RiverClan cat.

She wondered why he was here, so early, yet she could ask herself that same question. Flicking an ear, she shifted her focus away from the question, although it was still odd how the two of them managed to show up at the same place at the same time without being hostile. She didn't mind.
