Sleepy Camp And Not So Sleepy Kits (Open)

Morningfog groomed her fur to the best of her abilities, tired and still getting used to being blind. Her kits kept her busy lately, growing. Sunrise was coming, she could tell from the mugginess that the fog would be burned away by the time dawn patrol returned. The she-cat slipped out the nursery, ate a small fish that was left in the pile overnight and then laid down by the shore, head on paws and the burbling river in her ears.

Cinderpaw padded out if the apprentice den, yawning loudly. She still is not used to waking up this early, she defiantly is not a morning cat. Having to get up early lately for the dawn patrols, looking to the entrance she realized there was no cats waiting for her. Did they leave without her?

Signing she made her way to the prey pile, she was already up mine as well get some food. Grabbing whatever was there she eyed around with sleepy eyes and saw Morningfog eating by the river.

She was wondering how the queen was faring with all the small kits of hers. It must be hard raising kits while blind, but Morningfog was a nice and caring queen. Remembering just a few moons ago her crying in her nest all alone and Nutpaw and Morningfog talked to her and Morningfog allowing her to sleep in the queens nest.

Purring at the memory of sleeping with the queen she padded over to her, "How is the kits treating you?" Setting down with her fish. She did feel bad for not being there to help her with the kits a lot, being an apprentice is a busy life.

Shallowkit grumbled from the nursery, and stepped out of the entrance. "Getting up early means almost no one is around!" She mumbled to herself and stretched.

Toadkit lumbered from the nursery. He flicked an ear in annoyance. Why was he still in the nursery? He was practically an apprentice now! He spotted Morningfog from the corner of his eye. He hadn't spoken much to his adoptive mother. He wondered if she even loved him as much as her biological kits. I doubt it, he remarked in his head. No one can love a kit that isn't theirs.

The black and white tom sat next to her, not touching his pelt to hers. He wondered if she could feel his presence there. He nodded to Cinderpaw as she approached. "Hi, Cinderpaw," Toadkit greeted. He hoped she was enjoying her apprenticeship. She was lucky to be an apprentice.

Her ear flicked as she heard someone else speak, and turned to see Toadkit. She mewed a hello, but didn't go over to him.
