Dappledkit's and Pebblekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Magpiewing stepped into the clearing and jumped onto his perch, looking down at the cats that glanced up in his direction. It was a time for two kits to become apprentices. ShadowClan was growing by the day, and it couldn't make the tom happier. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Pebblekit raced into the clearing, her fur still a mess from roughhousing with her friend, Egretkit. When she sat down she quickly fixed up her fur and curled her fluffy, brown and white tail around her paws. She noticed there were only a few warriors out, and she felt slightly sad Where is everyone, do they not like me?

Dappledkit scrambled out of the nursery, tiny paws clumsily carrying the she-kit over to Pebblekit. "Are you okay? You don't look too good," she whispered into the soon-to-be apprentice's ear. Sitting herself down and grooming her matted, dirty fur, she gazed at the slowly forming group down below. "This is so exciting!" she thought to herself.

What's the wait for? she thought to herself as a minute seemed like eternity

The tom looked as the two kits came together beneath the rock. "Dappledkit, Pebblekit, please step forward."

Dappledkit eagerly stepped forward, excitement and respect for the deputy shining brightly in her eyes.

Pebblekit marched a tad bit forward from the crowd, a serious, but anxious and excited look covered her from ear-tip to claw

"You have both reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior names, you shall be known as Dappledpaw and Pebblepaw," the tom called, looking at the newly named apprentices. "Blazeflight will be your mentor, Dappledpaw, and Waspstep will be your mentor, Pebblepaw. I trust they will teach you all they know." With the ceremony over, Magpiewing hopped down from his perch to congratulate the two apprentices before heading off to continue his many duties.
