A Journey of Self Discovery... To the Fresh Kill Pile [Open as heck!]

Rowankit huffed and lengthened his stride so he was next to the kit again, but his eyes sparkled with excitement. "Sure. I've done it before," He lied. "I caught a squirrel, too." He shuddered slightly as he looked out of camp and into the marsh.

Padding up beside Bearkit and Rowankit, Duskkit nodded about going hunting. Flicking his tail he tried to call his siblings over. "If we go, we gave to bring my siblings. They know an awesome way out the camp!" Looking back he saw his brother and sister slowly padding up to them. Soon enough Duskkit started asking a million questions.

Bearkit, feeling as though his temporary leadership position was being threatened, tried to think of whether he knew any ways out of camp aside from the main entrance and exit; his eyes flicked around the camp, searching, but it was no use--he had never left camp, and he didn't know a good, discreet way to do so. For now, he would have to (grudgingly) let someone who did know a way out take the lead. He tried not to let his irritation at that fact show. "Alright," He mewed, nodding agreeably and glancing back at Echokit and Roaringkit, "Show us the best way!"

Roaringkit nodded and started heading towards the Medicine Cat Den, where he and Echokit had found a secret entrance leading into the marshy terrian outside.

He stopped in front of the den and turned to the group. "We need to check if Honeydrop is inside," he whispered to them, careful to not say why just in case his loud voice hadn't been quiet enough for any nearby cats. If the Medicine Cat was there, then they wouldn't all be able to squeeze through the secret hole without being noticed unless they were very, very careful.

Echokit followed them quietly. She did wanted out of the camp sure but after what happened last time.... They could have died out there, if it was not for Duskkit creative thinking they would have. They made it out of the pit and back to camp but not without injuries.

Signing, she glanced at her paw. She never wants to see that horror and terror on her siblings faces again. But when she looked around to the other kits she saw excitement, how can she say no?

A flash of uncertainty showed on Rowankit's face, but within an instant he was skipping next to Bearkit, nodding agreeably.

Let's just say she's not here. If she comes back then we can say that she was just really quiet or something the entire time))

Bearkit swiveled his ears towards the entrance to the medicine den, and listened for any sound from inside--shuffling of herbs, pawsteps, voices, anything that would indicate someone was inside. He heard nothing. He scented the air--he could only smell the confusing scent of the herbs inside the den, which he suspected would overpower Honeydrop's scent, even if he knew it well enough to pick it up (which he didn't, but wouldn't admit). Still, he kept his voice low. "I don't hear anything." He mewed softly, "Lets go." With that, he began creeping into the den, trying to move as quietly as he could on his still-uncoordinated paws.

Rowankit tripped and fell in his haste to lead the way, sprawling in the mud. He scrambled to his feet, trying to act natural, and trotted next to Bearkit once more.

Rolling his eyes at Rowankit, Duskkit padded beside his siblings and swiveled his sharp ears toward the den. Hearing nothing she nodded to Bearkit, agreeing. Padding toward the den he spotted Duneclaw with a look of wonder on his face. Oh no! Duneclaw! Thinking what they would say if they came back with more wounds, he frowned. But just a moment later he brightened up again and raced ahead. Stopping he saw Bearkit staring at her. Turning back he padded along with the other kittens by her side again. Flicking his tail he turned to Roaringkit. "Do you think I can steal herbs from the store just in case? So me and you can treat somecat if they get hurt?" He said the words with just a hint of jealosy. Duskkit knew that Roaringkit was gonna be the Med Cat Apprentice and not him. Sighing he finally stepped into a crack between two rocks. Soon the tunnel opened up into the Med Cat's Den.

Roaringkit didn't like having to steal, but Duskkit was right. If they wanted to prevent another incident, having the proper herbs with them would be best. Duskkit knew a lot more about herbs than any kit, which included himself to his embarrassment. "Ok, but not too much," he meowed.

Rowankit watched the entire exchange with interest before turning, ready to exchange annoyed looks with Bearkit.
"Can't we just go already?" He mewed in exasperation.

Bearkit agreed with Rowankit's sentiment--they would be fine, they didn't need herbs! No one had reported seeing any foxes or badgers recently, and besides, they outnumbered anything dangerous they would find in the forest. He was confident that they would return, safe and sound. "Yeah, come on guys, lets go!" He mewed, waving his tail in invitation as he made his way towards the small, almost unnoticeable break in the wall that would lead them out of camp.

Roaringkit followed Bearkit through the hole, the gap dipping before awkwardly arching upwards. Marshy plants covering the top, filtering in greenish-yellow light. His tiny body easily slid through, the rocky sides only lightly brushing the tips of his fur.
