Panicky patroling (closed)

Sitting near the entrance, Ryecloud's pelt nervously twitched as he waited for some cat to join him. After what had happened with the dogs in the field... never mind that, he wasn't going to think about that fateful day. For now, he was going to focus on a patrol. Being a warrior, the tom had newfound duties, which unfortunately included leading patrols. As much as he didn't want to lead a patrol without his mother or family, he knew that he had to do this sometime or another, so the crooked jawed, disfigured warrior sat near the entrance, wondering who might join him for an early morning patrol.

Spiderfur's heart hadn't slowed one bit.

Those dogs, those monsters had awakened long-buried memories of her apprenticeship, memories that she wished to forget. Windclan had lost their camp, she'd lost her mother. But everyone lost somebody those days. She shouldn't try to focus on herself so much. No matter what happened, the Clan was always first. And so she'd fight her anxiety today and go out. Alone.

Why did she think this was a good idea? There were hawks and eagles out there that could easily snatch her up and carry her off. Foxes and badgers wouldn't think twice about grabbing her for a meal. Another group of dogs could appear and hunt her for fun! 'Stop it stop it stop it!' She couldn't make herself panic, it wouldn't help anyone! She had to do something for the Clan to keep her mind off of everything bouncing around inside.

At the moment she was still sitting beside the low freshkill pile, trying to look busy. And she had seemed so, for a second, as there was now a piece of crowfood beside her. 'Something else something else...' Her pale heather eyes landed on Ryecloud, confused as to what he was doing. It took a heartbeat for her to realize that her kin seemed to be looking for a patrol. Maybe she could join him? A memory of his near-last day as a kit flashed in her mind's eye, of her fearing for a life that had only just begun. Now he was stronger, a warrior.

She rose slowly to her little paws and approached him, analyzing his height as she drew closer, wondering which one of them was taller. The dust-colored warrior glanced beyond the edge of camp before saying, "P-Patrol?" She didn't want to say much due to her everlasting stutter.

Hearing the soft voice which had caught his attention, Ryecloud turned his head to see Spiderfur. Both cats weren't the most outgoing of clanmates and although he would've rather had a tom join him, he couldn't exactly deny her wanting to join him. Giving a dip of his head in reply, the younger warrior stood up, his limp hind leg awkwardly jutting out to the side. Flicking his tail in the direction of the camp entrance, Ryecloud decided that this was a good number for a simple patrol and headed out of the safety of the camp and onto the moor.

Making his way through a patch of tall grass, he tried his best not to walk too slow, and hoped that the she-cat knew of his... dysfunctions. Not being the most social of cats or one to particularly enjoy conversation, the pair walked towards the Thunderpath border in silence. For Ryecloud, he didn't really mind the silence and being somewhat socially inept, he was unable to detect if his companion wanted to break the silence, and so the disfigured tom kept moving through the quiet of the moor, keeping his gaze towards their destination as he dragged his useless leg along, all of his senses on edge as his underdeveloped jaw quivered from slight nervousness.
