Hollowpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!"

Gustpuddle waltzed into the clearing, eventually sitting under the Tallrock, hoping this was what she thought it was.

Hollowpaw looked up at his leader and grinned. Was this it? Was this the warrior ceremony he had waited so long to  have? The tom gave a small purr and stepped in with the gathering cats.

He also noticed Gustpuddle among them, and he offered her a sheepish grin.

Ashstar smiled at the apprentice. "Hollowpaw, please step forwards." Once the tom did, she continued. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Hollowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Gustpuddle watched as the ceremony commenced, joy spilling from her ears. To her, this tom was her world, and her world was this tom. The bubbly gray she-cat sat, grinning ear to ear, waiting for Hollowpaws response.

Hollowpaw took in a deep breath, glanced again at Gustpuddle, then nodded to Ashstar. "I do." He would not just protect the clan with his life, but also his new mate. She was all he had, really. He wasn't close to his parents - he hadn't spoken to them in moons, other than occasional greetings. He had been somewhat close to his brother, but he was missing now. Gustpuddle was his new love, the one he would give his life for. The clan and Gustpuddle. He swore to defend them.

Brindlewhisker let out a low, nearly inaudible purr of satisfaction as she watched Hollowpaw's ceremony progress, her wide eyes glinting with pride. The constant glances shared between Hollowpaw and Gustpuddle weren't exactly unnoticed- the constant glistening moony affection within each both cats eyes seemed as if they would drown the camp- and it made her feel incredibly amused. Flicking her ear, she watched as the ceremony progressed, doing her best not to snort out a laugh. 'Who would of figured..' She reflected, eyes trained on her soon to be former apprentice.

Ashstar nodded. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Hollowpaw, from this moment you will be known as Hollowfang. StarClan honors your bravery and intuition, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head.
