OOC: I'll pm you Ripped when you can post buddy. Also short post aaa))

Rockpaw and Brindlewhisker had met and agreed on a time and place to meet with a guest in her presence. Pacing rather shakily the tom looked to the path in which the Windclan cats took, he really hoped that Brindlewhisker would have persuaded Mottleheart to come to four trees that night. Looking to the moon anxiously he waited, he waited for a long time like he always did.

The amount of convincing it took to lure Mottleheart from the warm confines of his nest and all the way out to Fourtrees would probably send their ancestors rolling in their graves. It had taken what had seemed like half the night to bargain with Mottleheart, with a variety of bargains and favors being used up within one long conversation. Brindlewhisker had done her best to coax her former friend away from the camp with the vague promise of ' a surprise waiting for him at Fourtrees '; only narrowly succeeding in her job of getting Mottleheart to come with her. In all likelihood, he had probably only agreed to come with her since she saved his skin from the Eagle- although ever since Mottleheart's near gruesome end at the talons of the Eagle, the coldness between them had dissolved some. 'I never thought I'd live to see the day where I was thankful about bold Eagles attacking my Clanmates.' She reflected with a slight grimace as they continued their little mystery trip.

Their walk together to sacred meeting place had been rather quiet, bar Mottleheart's occasional question, but it hadn't been entirely unpleasant in her eyes. The silence that had filled the walk to Fourtrees had been a mostly comforting presence, although the much welcomed silence allowed wiggle room for the conflicting thoughts raging within the back of her skull. 'It's for Rockpaw- he needs this reaffirmation.' She steeled, using the mantra to absolve her of her growing anxiety- Mottleheart didn't have the most positive stance of friendships spanning different Clans, so what would he think of this meeting? Shaking her head, she bounded forward slightly to the rocky ridge that marked the end of WindClan territory and the beginning of neutral ground. The scraggly forest grasses and moorland heather mingled together in an unpleasant mass on the slope that Windclan used as their route into the sacred hollow, but she continued to brush through the prickly plants, doing her best to forge a clear path for the tom who trailed behind her. Brindlewhisker paused for a few heartbeats before leaping the rest of the way down the steep rocky ridge, landing on the frost-bitten grass and leaves with a soft 'thump'.

The fresh scent of ThunderClan hung heavily in the air, and she knew with certainty that Rockpaw was definitely here, nervously lurking about in the shadows that drenched the hollow. Padding further into the hollow and leaving Mottleheart to find his way into the hollow, Brindlewhisker rounded the Great Rock to find Rockpaw huddled there once more, his dark eyes wide with anxiety. Despite the short amount of time that had passed since their prior meeting, Rockpaw somehow managed to look just as bad as he previously had- if not worse. Bones sharply evident along the matted, scraggly fur that only barely seemed to be clinging to his skin, while his dark eyes still seemed alight with misery and self-loathing. 'He deserves to know that Mottleheart doesn't hate him.' She reflected, glancing down at the ThunderClan apprentice with a mixture of fondness and pity. He really had managed to grow on her since their first meeting all those moons ago. Turning her head back around to peer at where she had previously seen Mottleheart, she took a moment to steel herself for the inevitable onslaught of questions she knew she would receive. "Mottleheart, come here- this was the 'surprise' I told you about." Brindlewhisker called, shuffling closer to Rockpaw until her thick, glossy fur pressed comfortingly against the toms.

Mottleheart was annoyed. Here he was, following Brindlewhisker to Fourtrees for a 'surpise' with little idea why. The she-cat refused to answer his questions and he couldn't believe that he agreed to this, even if he did find himself questioning out loud why he was being dragged to Fourtrees only to fume angrily when he wasn't given an answer. But yet, he wasn't angry...Just annoyed. Why, he wouldn't deny that he had been slightly hopefully when Brindlewhisker had confronted him the night before. Ever since the eagle attack where she had saved him, he had been trying to figure out how to make up with the she-cat.

Being on the verge of StarClan's fields had allowed him to think about all of his regrets. Regrets not being close with his daughters...And regret of messing up his friendship with Brindlewhisker and Rockpaw. But he had just been stumped on how to do so - he had never been lucky enough to encounter Rockpaw during his many trip to Fourtrees and he simply found himself far to scared to talk to Brindlewhisker seeing how cold she had been to him. And so he was confused - why the sudden behavior change in Brindlewhisker? Why make him come to Fourtrees? His eyes were narrowed and he was so lost in thought that while he had realized they had arrived, he missed the scent of ThunderClan until Brindlewhisker spoke up.

He glanced up with a cold gaze, his whiskers twitching in annoyance. So, what was this surp- His eyes widen. For a second, he wasn't sure who the tom was that Brindlewhisker was pressing up against but the moment he opened his mouth he knew. "Rockpaw?" His voice was a whisper, his eyes growing soft as he stared in despair at the ragged tom before him. Rockpaw had been so...So prideful when the two had last seen each other and Mottleheart flinched as how cold he had been to the apprentice when they had returned him to Darkstar. But now the tom before him was just a shadow of that tom that had so foolishly walked into the WindClan camp in a silly effort to apologize. His eyes watered slightly, wondering if he had anything to do with the tom's state. "What happened?" he gasped as he took a step forward, almost forgetting completely about Brindlewhisker for a few seconds as he stared up at the tom. Rockpaw looked nothing like the mighty apprentice that Mottleheart had feared during their first encounter...If anything, Rockpaw looked even weaker.

But then Mottleheart froze, suddenly taking a step back as something clicked in his mind. His gaze suddenly snapped to his Clanmate, then back to Rockpaw and then back again. They...What? For a second, his fur started to stand on edge. Brindlewhisker had refused to tell him what was going on just to bring him all the way here to meet Rockpaw? Oh, but he wasn't angry that Brindlewhisker had agreed to this meeting, he was outraged that Brindlewhisker had refused to tell him. If she had even spoken the name Rockpaw, he would have been on board to come...But then his fur died down.

But his previous actions toward Rockpaw showed the opposite of that...Didn't it? He gritted his teeth as he lowered his head, his eyes squeezed shut as he scolded himself for his foolish behavior when it came to the two of them. They were his best friends...He had lost so much when he broke ties with them and he had done nothing to repair them. After a few seconds, his whole body relaxed as he glanced up at the two. "Why?" he said after a few seconds, his voice having no force behind it. "Why am I here?" There was a bitterness to it all - he didn't deserve this. He was foolish and arrogant when it came the two - they deserved better friends then him.

Rockpaw's eyes alighted as the two Windclan cats came into the clearing, giving a soft raspy purr as Brindlewhisker sat next to him, she seemed hopeful almost. Rockpaw froze when he looked at Mottleheart, eyeing the toms belly for scars and when he found them he felt sick. Giving his crush a shaky smile the Thunderclan apprentice opened his mouth to respond to Mottlehearts inquiry but thought better of it, he looked down to his paws, ears pressing against his head.

"You're here because Brindlewhisker and I wanted to uh... apologize." Rockpaw rasped, tail resting softly over his paws as he looked at Mottleheart bashfully. "I wanted to apologize for being so horrible to you at the gathering, truth is that I was jealous that you had kittens and a mate.. a female one at that. Truth is that I actually like you, like you far more than a friend." Rockpaw admitted, shrinking away shyly.

Rockpaw looked down at Brindlewhiskers paws, wishing that Mottleheart didn't have so sound so angry, it was probably with them, all they wanted was to make amends! He didn't want another cat to hate him, he hardly had a future with anyone as it was!

Brindlewhisker remained tightly pressed against Rockpaw, breath billowing in the still relatively chilly night air as she watched Mottleheart and Rockpaw's tentative interactions. 'Surprise!' She mentally cheered halfheartedly, knowing that to shout that would probably just make everything worse. She carefully observed the array of emotions that spanned Mottleheart's features as he first caught a glimpse of Rockpaw's bedraggled, miserable state, eyes narrowing slightly at the momentary flash of anger that briefly twisted his face. The maelstrom of anger and grief displayed did little to unnerve her at this point- the intent was simply to apologize, not beg for forgiveness, and so far they'd seemed to of earned an audience for it. 'What matters most now is just getting these two to kiss and make up.' She decided, listening as the ThunderClan apprentice began to speak. Wrapping her own tail around her feet, she crouched down more comfortably against the cold rocky hollow floor, silently allowing Rockpaw to speak his own grievances. A twinge of amusement sparked in her at the "a mate...a female one at that" line, and she gave Rockpaw's shrinking form a slight nudge.

"The whole notion of this being a 'surprise' might of been a bit overboard," Brindlewhisker finally spoke, tone hushed as she addressed Mottleheart, "But I couldn't chance it all by saying that I wanted to apologize- then you could of just demanded that I apologize while we were still in camp." She added, watching the way Rockpaw's gaze dropped to study his paws in a submissive manner. "Plus it was quite a surprise wasn't it?" She hastily added, forced humor straining her voice.  She continued to watch the way Rockpaw's head bowed as she carefully went over the various options that now awaited her in an overwhelming mass of anxiety. 'This is worse than our actual fight.' She mused, ear twitching as she continued to try and mentally view each scenario. Of course she could always take a similar route to Rockpaw's apology and blame their falling out on the irrationality of her lovesick brain but would that really mend all of the past words said? Wouldn't dragging in all the past feelings just cloud everything up again? A jittery sigh escaped her lips as she glanced back and forth between the two toms.

Toes curling and flexing nervously, Brindlewhisker allowed the silence to settle briefly upon the little trio, berry-pink tongue swiping across her lips as she forcibly gained control of the fluttering nerves in her belly. Shuffling her stiff muscles slowly, she tried her best to work all of the tension out of her rigid form, fur prickling slightly as she wondered at what thoughts were filling her Clanmates head currently. Did she even want to know? "I hope you know that I truly am sorry for all the things I said to you and how I must of made you feel," She started, voice uneasy, "-it was unfair and low of me to say everything I did. I let myself become focused solely on one aspect in your life, viewing it a negative light out of my own envy when I should of been thrilled that you were so ready to start such an important chapter of your life." She mewed softly, ashamed to recall her behavior when Mottleheart had first informed her of the birth of Raccoonfang and Ravenkit. Why hadn't she cherished them both in the beginning? They were kin to the cat whom she once loved dearly and yet all she could focus on was the fact they hadn't been born to her. Her behavior would of made her parents rise from the grave to give her a well-deserved scolding. "I never meant to shut you out as I did- it's just I didn't know how to go back from it all. I didn't know what to say- I still don't." Brindlewhisker added after a few moments, voice small as she looked at Mottleheart with wide eyes. Of course a more personal part of her little speech was missing, a little piece that deserved to be acknowledged in it's own due time, but for now, she only wished to offer a genuine apology that did nothing but start the rebuilding of the burnt bridges.

Mottleheart had dropped into a crouch the moment Rockpaw had started talking, feeling like he was going to be here for a while as he let his gaze fall to the grass before his paws. Apologize? Part of him wanted to scroff at that - they were acting like they were the only ones that needed to do so. But no, Mottleheart had wronged them as well, did they not realize that? He frowned at Rockpaw's words, mostly the last part as he struggled to grasp the meaning. Like him...Far more then a friend? He raised his gaze to stare at Rockpaw with wide eyes as the meaning of the words start to ring in his head, his jaw working for an answer but had no time to form an answer before Brindlewhisker started to speak.

He allowed his gaze to sweep from Rockpaw to his Clanmate, staring at her as his ears folded back on his head. His expression darken as he recall how he had truly felt in those moments where Rockpaw and Brindlewhisker had both left him...He had been betrayaled, cast aside by those important to him. He recall his vemonious words he had spat at Brindlewhisker - daring to compaire her to his father. He wasn't sure if Brindlewhisker could truly understand how he had felt in that moment but he pushed it down as he focused on her words once more. He listened in silence until she was finished, pushing himself fully to his paws as he stared at the two.

"How can you apologize?" he spat softly, closing his eyes as he shook his head in anger "How can you apologize as if you two are the only ones that have done wrong?" His voice raised an octave as it cracked, his eyes flashing open as he stared at the two in disbelief. "I-I was so...So selfish to think that everything would be the same after that stupid, stupid choice. I didn't dare to think how you guys would feel...I...I didn't realize how you guys felt..." His eyes lingered on Rockpaw as those words left his mouth. "I was so angry...I took in your actions at face value without thinking the reasoning or feelings behind it and let it blinded me. I wanted to hold onto that anger...I...I couldn't think of how to apologize. I should be the one apologizing...You...You guys deserve better then me"

He fell into silence as his whole body shuttered, falling into a crouch and found himself unwilling to meet their gazes. He didn't understand - he had a role in this as well. They all needed to apologize but he couldn't understand why they wanted to apologize. He had been no better, he had crossed them out of his lives the moment they snapped at him. At least Rockpaw had attempted to apologize but still Mottleheart had treated him no better then he would any other ThunderClan cat. He had done nothing for them, and yet they still wanted to be his friend...There was a lump in his throat as he struggled to swallow. He...He didn't understand. Why? Why did they still care for him?

Rockpaw looked hopeful as Brindlewhisker apologized beautifully to Mottleheart, the hope he had in his heart grew ever more as he waited. The thunderclan apprentice waited patiently, though his paws continued to shuffle. Rockpaw had come to terms that Mottleheart would never like him back when he had sat a night in Windclan camp after the tussle with the deputy, but when he saw Mottlehearts eyes shift with realization he felt his fur heat.

The tom's gut fell to the ground and spilled its contents as Mottleheart retorted with quiet anger, the softly brimming smile fell as he felt the feeling of horror dawning in his throat, sure that his face reflected it. But as the Windclan tom continued to talk Rockpaw felt his stomach stitch itself back together, tiny stones filling in and making his gut feel clogged with more stones than could ever be imagined.

"Mottleheart, we did you wrong too, I shouldn't have yelled at you either. We were trying to do what's the best way to apologize, I accept your apology, same with Brindlewhisker I'm sure. I didn't think of what I was doing to you when I did yell at you. We care for you because you are you.'' Rockpaw mewed, huffing. The young tom felt hesitant, almost like walking on eggshells. ''Can we all just put all these woes behind us all?'' he asked, giving Brindlewhisker a funny look as he realized that she didn't admit her own feelings.

Turning to her he mewed. ''Anything you want to add before we part? Hopefully? I'd like to get back to camp soon since they will wonder where I am.'' He suggested pointedly.

"What a touching reunion," A voice mocked sarcastically from the highrock. While the trio was blabbing on in the clearing below, Bear had come from the opposite direction. He had heard the voices before entering fourtrees and decided to stay hidden momentarily to see if anything interesting would happen. However, the clan cats simply kept talking over some sort of misunderstanding that had gone on. The brown tom had grown bored with the whole ordeal. Before they could leave, he bunched up his well-muscled frame and leaped easily up onto the high rock. He had to admit it was a great view. Someday I will address the group from up here. Someday when the forest is ours. For a moment the dreams of grandeur filled his head, but he shook it away to address the forest cats.

"I thought you clan cats were too cowardly to stray from your own territories," He meowed cooly, narrowing his eyes, "What a surprise that I should happen to stumble upon you here. I hope you all didn't have any plans of running back home tonight? Because I'm certainly not letting that happen." The dark brown tom's claws unsheathed to scrape against the hard stone as he waited for one of them to speak. If everything went well, the group would have three more added to their ranks.

Any fond words aimed at Rockpaw or Mottleheart quickly died in her throat at the newest gruff voice chiming into their conversation and Brindlewhisker's head snapped up, pupils dilating as she scanned the dark hollow for the newest member of their little congregation. After a few brief heartbeats of searching, her wide eyes finally settled on the rogue; the way Bear's brown fur glinted slightly in the weak moonlight made him stick out like an eyesore. 'Can't we all just talk one time without something happening?' She reflected irritably as Bear addressed them, her ears swiveling forward to listen intently to everything he said. She gave Bear an unimpressed sniff- kittypets, loners, and rogues often wandered into the forest with a similar attitude, but the only thing their behavior earned them was a few days knocked off of their miserable lifespans. "And I thought that over-zealous kittypets only wandered into the forest to die, but it looks like all the petty little stereotypes you desperately cling to in place of a proper education aren't real." She retorted, voice mimicking the cool tone that Bear had initially addressed the trio with.

Brindlewhisker rose from her relaxed crouch, forcing herself to tower at her full height as she glared menacingly at the outsider. "Speaking of signing your own death warrant, are you sure you want to test your luck by taking on three Clan cats all by yourself? If so, you must be as stupid as you are malnourished." She continued, voice frosty as she glared at Bear with wary eyes. In truth Bear didn't appear to look that underfed, but in comparison to the powerfully muscled Clan cats who were already beginning to fatten up with the spoils of early New-Leaf, he looked like nothing more than a half-starved rat. 'It's always the starving ones riddled with disease that are the most dangerous.' She reflected, tail giving a single lash as she repressed the natural urge of allowing her nape fur to bristle. 'It's best to squash it now before it infects anything else.' Her brain whispered, making the lean muscle in her shoulders twitch in anticipation at the prospect of a battle.

The arrogance in Bear's voice made Brindlewhisker's claws flex- did some half trained rogue who survived solely on carrion really believe that he was able to prevent three well trained, battle-hardened cats from leaving? Perhaps he was mad from the all the Twoleg garbage he likely survived on. Despite the fact that she wanted to leap up onto the Great Rock and kick the Rogue from here to the Highstones, she knew that a battle at Fourtrees would be greatly unappreciated by all the Clans- especially if the battle would turn into an inevitable slaughter as it would be three against one. Three well trained cats against one at that! Reluctantly, Brindlewhisker allowed her claws a reprieve from raking furrows in the ground by relaxing her tense muscles enough for them to slip back into their sheathes. She let out a near silent sigh, flashing an imploring glance at Mottleheart and Rockpaw before craning her neck to glare at Bear once more. "Do yourself a favor and scamper back to your Twolegs- we wouldn't want you to miss your next meal." She mewed dismissively, relaxing her defensive stance.

Mottleheart had opened his mouth, ready to accept their apologize but the words died in his throat when a new voice echoed in the clearing. His heart sank as the scent of another cat filled the air with no scent of a Clan behind it. A rogue. The warrior swallowed as he stared up at the tom as the rogue taunted him, his tail flickering with uncertainty as Brindlewhisker taunted back. His eye widen as he snapped at the she-cat, taking a weak step forward. "Br-Brindlewhisker, I would rather we don't..." his voice drifted off, unwilling to finish his sentence. He didn't want a fight - bloodshed was unnecessary. They could each go their different ways! ...But the rogue wasn't going to let them do that, was he? Mottleheart stared up at the rogue with his ears slicked back, his chest starting to heave in the panic of the idea of fighting. H-He couldn't...Not...Not after what had happened when he was a kit. He didn't want to see it again. He...His whole body grew ridge as he fought down the panic, unable to move as he was helpless to see the events unfold before him.

Rockpaw looked to the Great rock and backed away to see the rogue tom more clearly, fur bristling he hissed at the foreigner. Claws unsheathed he trembled, thoughts rushing around his head as he calculated. This tom was a rogue, the hostility almost familiar like the rogue she-cat he had murdered. Giving a yowl with a lashing tail he felt strength bleed into his limbs.

"Cowardly isn't the definition of a clan cat! I've murdered rogues stronger than cats like you, those that expect kittens too! We're ruthless when it comes to disgusting creatures like you rogues!" Rockpaw felt sick, but if this cat was a dad this might help or harm him. Either way as long as the two Windclan cats are safe he'd be fine with it.

"Any rogue kits we find we kill! We laugh and feast on their cooling corpses when the blood is still fresh! Sacrifice them even to Starclan!" Rockpaw spat, making up lies left and right, his incessant screeching and spitting driving his point home. "These Windclan cats are a force to be messed with! They'll have you mewling for your mother as they form their own tornado's that sweep you off your paws! Thunderclan cats are so large and strong that a flick of our tail will deafen your ears and render you useless as we tear out your throat!" The apprentice spat with fury.

Bushing up all his fur he tried to softly nudge Brindlewhisker aside, giving her the best look to convey his message to wait before she does anything rash. "Let me do this, I'll tell you when, trust me." He muttered lowly, too quietly for Bear to hear. Walking until he was aligned with bear he didn't dare show exactly how weak he was, but how gaunt and weak he looked probably gave him away.

"I've already taken on my fair share of the forest cats," He huffed, glaring down at Brindlewhisker. Bear admired the she-cat's spirit, but despised her lack of respect. At the rest of her words, he flicked an ear in disinterest. Malnourished? Is she a mousebrain? A couple moons of living in the abandoned barn had him in better shape than he had ever been before. Maybe once he had been a skinny, fleabag that skulked in the shadows of the twolegplace. But that was another time. Now, the tom was in the prime of his life, with powerfully, well-trained muscles, and ready for another fight. Brindlewhisker had a point in the fact that he was outnumbered, but that had not stopped him before. Besides, the younger cat looked like and easy kill. One of the older warriors muttered something with a bit of fear lining his words. Brindlewhisker would be the only problem.

"I'd believe that if I hadn't already captured several clan cats, you lying fool. And Windclan, did you say? The moor cats? I've already killed off one of your clanmates. I have to admit it was a good fight, but clearly he didn't last," Bear laughed harshly at Rockpaw's attempt at a bold display. The rogue raised his claws to show off the dried blood that stained them. Typically he kept himself well groomed, but there was something about the red of the blood on his claws that he fancied.

A dark grin swept across his features as he launched himself off of the rock and onto Rockpaw. Since the apprentice had gotten closer, it was an easy reach. Within seconds, he had the younger tom bowled over. His claws sunk into flesh, getting a tight grip and re-staining them with fresh blood. In the same motion, Bear struck forwards, aiming for Rockpaw's shoulder. Iron jaws met fur and skin. Bear tore into the shoulder, almost reaching the bone. It occurred to him that he didn't quite want to kill the apprentice. However, he relished in the attack and pushed that notion to the back burner. If Rockpaw happened to die, it would be no concern of his, and he could at least get the message across.

Rockpaw gave a guttural screech as the large and heavy tom bowled him over and sunk his teeth into his shoulder and flesh, trying to shift his shoulder away Rockpaw only felt the teeth in his muscle. Panting heavily the Thunderclan apprentice battered softly at the rogues head, memories of his rash decisions and actions preventing him from really fighting back. After all, what if this tom was a dad? Despite the anger and an evilness to his eye.

Saliva burbled up in Rockpaws throat as he tried to fight the pain, he didn't want to die! Looking to the rage that was undoubtedly in Brindlewhiskers eyes he shook his head, pleading for her not to attack the tom. "Dear Starclan, please please don't do this, let me live. Please pleasepleasepleaseplease." Rockpaw muttered to himself.

Rage in his eyes the apprentice tried to make eye-contact with the rogue he hissed. "I want you gone, but I will not fight." He hissed, claws digging into fur as he held on for the wild ride. Spitting at the rogues face, he didn't want this but he believed that he had brought this on himself, if Starclan wished for his misery they would have it, but he had friends here. He wouldn't dare let Starclan take them away in trade of his grief and misery.

There was feeble noises from Mottleheart as he tried to voice his displease in the taunting of the rogue but every attempt to speak ended with his voice never finding the will nor strength to make itself vocal. His ears caught Rockpaw's words, the dare proclaim of killing a rogue but the WindClan warrior brushed it off - mixing it in with the lies that came from the ThunderClan apprentice's mouth moments later. His breath heaved, his eyes flickering back and forth from the trio in pure panic as his claws dug into the ground in some effort to give himself stable footing. "P-Please...No..." he protested weakly, barely a whisper that he himself could say as the rogue snap back at the group...

Then the rogue threw himself from the rock and Rockpaw screeched. It was a chilling sound as Mottleheart's blood turned cold, his whole body waving as his brown eyes grew wide. The pain, the agony that echoed in his friend's voice followed by his weak muttering of begging StarClan not to die as the tom pinned him to the ground...For a second, Mottleheart didn't react. It was as if he wasn't even looking at the fight that had broken out and he just stared ahead and the sound of Rockpaw's yowls echoed in his head. The sound replayed in his head until finally, with a deep gasping breath of pure panic, he dropped to the ground like a rock.

His whole body was wracked with shivers as he threw his paws over his head - over his ears - in an effort to drown it all out as his body heaved. To him, he wasn't in Fourtrees anymore. He was in the nursery, hiding in the corner with the other terrified kits with one of the queens standing over them protectively as the terrible yowls and screeches as his Clanmates split the air as they fought for their lives, for their Clan, against RiverClan. Every breath, every terrified gasp and exhale was shaky as he tried to pull himself together but he couldn't shake the memories that had left him a timid, terrified kit at just a little over five moons old. This was not the same brave tom that had faced down an eagle on his lonesome...He was a terrified kit, not understanding what was happening and why.

How could he? Eagles, owls, dogs...They weren't like the Clans - they weren't cats. But yet that one day had revealed to him a darker side to the world he had never known - how cruel cats could truly be to their own. And so he laid there, shaking as the memories of that day that had so terribly scarred him dug its claws into one once more as he whispered a simple phrase over and over, the same words he had uttered as a kit as he clung to his equally terrified denmates as he had listened to the terrifying sounds of battle for the first time.

'Please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end, please let it end...'

Over and over.

OOC: Mottle is out until this fight is over and Brindle (most likely) snaps him out of this

"It was mostly a joke, but I guess you forest cats are cowards!" Bear hissed into Rockpaw's ear. The trembling and whimpers of the smaller cat only urged him on in his attack. None of the other two intervened yet, so Bear was free to do as he pleased. With a joyful yowl, he leaped back, just off of the apprentice. A powerful forepaw with unsheathed claws smacked against the side of Rockpaw's face with a sickening sound and send him reeling to the side. Again, once more, Bear was on top of him within seconds. Claws tore through the limp cat's fur. Bear snapped his jaws at the side of the flesh that was stretched thin across Rockpaw's neck. Soon, blood was pouring from that wound as well. Not yet... don't kill him yet, The rogue repeated internally to himself. He wanted to see the younger cat's potential and it disappointed him that the other tom wouldn't even fight.

"Attack me, you fool!" He yowled, pausing his onslaught momentarily, while still pinning Rockpaw down.
