Vixenkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"All cats of RiverClan, gather here for a Clan meeting!" Tawnystorm called from atop the willow branch.

Amberpelt pulled herself from the warrior den with a small yawn, stretching out her limbs before she padded over to the gathering of cats. Her tail curled around her paws as she sat down, her head held high as she watched Tawnystorm on the branch, wondering what this Clan meeting was about.

Dawnpaw headed out of the apprentices den, cringing. She was bored of sleeping in that same den for such a long time and couldn't wait to move into the Warrior's den if she past her assessment. Sniffing, the tabby she-cat peered up at Tawnystorm and wondered what it was about this time.

Fallowstripe strutted out into the clearing, and turned her head to look up at Tawnystorm. She was beginning to get apprehensive that Ivyfall and Fishstar would never do a ceremony again. She sat down, tail lashing fervently. She looked around, mainly for Fracturedhawk. Her belly was already beginning to grow larger.

Vixenkit bounded out past the nursery to make her way to the edge of the circle of cats. She wondered if it were her time yet to get her mentor and warrior name. Her tail waved back and forth with the excitement.

"Vixenkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Please step forward." Tawnystorm began, smiling down at the kit.

Vixenkit's eyes were wide with excitement. Her fur tingling with energy pulsing through her tiny little body as she hurried up to Tawnystorm, ready to take her apprentices name.

"You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Vixenpaw. Your mentor will be Amberpelt. May she pass down all she knows to you." Tawnystorm nodded firmly at the newly named apprentice, before jumping down from the branch to conclude the ceremony.

Amberpelt grinned when she was named Vixenpaw's mentor, jumping to her paws as she padded to the young she-cat. While she also had Whitepaw as her apprentice, she had no doubt that she would be able to take care of both Whitepaw and Vixenpaw's training at the same time. Reaching Vixenpaw, she leaned down to touch nose with her new apprentice. "I'll make you a fine warrior," she purred with a smile.

The newly named apprentice walked up to her mentor, a low purr of satisfaction rumbled in her throat as she touched noses with her. Finally, she was Vixenpaw, the simple thought of it made her grin all the more.
