Not All Cats Land on their Feet [closed]

Shallowpaw had been raring to go since the sun first began to rise- eagerly pacing while waiting for other cats to relent to his excitement and join him. The novelty of leaving camp had yet to lose its charm, and he found tedious tasks like patrolling the borders or hunting to be some of the most exciting things he's experienced so far. Since he was made into an apprentice a few sunrises earlier, he had spent most of his time exploring and learning the rules rather then doing the usual apprentice tasks, although he had yet to be able to go see Fourtrees yet. "I can't wait to finally see Fourtrees- I bet Acornpaw, Lightpaw, and Oakpaw got to see this place ages ago." He had reflected internally, feeling slightly upset at his momentary jealousy- it wasn't his sisters fault that they had been apprenticed before him.

Shallowpaw snapped himself from his thoughts and looked back at the rest of the cats who had joined his patrol, who now seemed to be lagging behind slightly, his whiskers twitching eagerly as his paws shuffled in anticipation. "Hurry up," He called, excitement evident in his voice and eyes, "I can't wait to see Fourtrees- I wanna see if the elders are really right about how tall the trees are!" He mewed, circling eagerly as he awaited their responses.

Amberpelt felt proud to be a warrior, feeling like a whole new cat with her new name. She watched as Shallowpaw seemed to dart ahead, a bit envious of how excited he was to explore everything. For her, this was simply another patrol to slug though and felt it would be boring as ever - but still the joy of this being the first patrol as a warrior had its charm. She shook her head as he called back at them, smiling softly. Part of her wanted to be annoyed at him but how could she? She sighed softly as she picked up the pace to catch up with him. "Hold onto your tail, Shallowpaw. This is a patrol - not a time for you to gawk at Fourtrees. We will get there when we get there."
