Ravenpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their... own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Blazepaw padded out at Thrushstars mighty call, wanting to see who is to be ranked up now.

Larksong pulled herself from the medicine den with a wince, her side aching from the attack. While she would survive, there was no doubt that she wouldn't have a scar. While she knew she should be resting so soon after the attack, she wanted to be here for this ceremony. She had no doubt who it was for after her talk with Thrushstar - Ravenpaw had risked herself to save her and Larksong couldn't be thankful enough. She sat down just outside of the medicine den, not wanting to move to far away and risk reopening her wound.


Smokestripe pulled himself from the warrior den with glimmering eyes, always excited when it was time for a ceremony. He spotted Larksong sitting outside of the medicine den, relieved to see her up and moving after such an attack. He was happy that she would recover and happy that nobody else had been hurt in it all. Speaking of which, he had a feeling of who this ceremony would be for. He sat down and curled his tail around his paws, smiling at the moment that was at paw.

So much had gone on for so fast that Ravenpaw could hardly believe that this was happening. She walked to the center of the clearing, her chin and tail held up high with her chest puffed out. Okay, so she wasn't the best hunter in the forest, but the fact that she'd apparently proved herself skilled and brave as a warrior should be, well, it was the most amazing feeling. That badger was gone, Larksong was safe and would be alright, and she was finally going to earn her name. Finally!

The she-cat was beaming. She spotted Larksong and Smokestripe in the crowd and shooting them a slight hint of a smile. She wouldn't have been standing there today without them.

"Tonight, we gather to make this apprentice a warrior," Thrushstar said. "Ravenpaw, please step forward."

Ravenpaw beamed, glancing around the clan before stepping up to the front of the crowd.

"Ravenpaw, do you promise to... serve and protect this clan, as well as uphold the warrior code, even... at the cost of your life?" He asked.

She waited patiently as the old man rasped, her green eyes shimmering. "I do," Ravenpaw meowed firmly.

"Then I grant you your warrior name," he told her. "Ravenpaw, from now on you... will be known as Ravenclaw. We welcome you as a full warrior of Shadowclan." As he finished speaking, he leaped down to let the clan celebrate the new warrior.

"Ravenclaw! Ravenclaw!" Both Larksong and Smokestripe chanted in unison along with the rest of the Clan, a surge of pride flashing through the two of them. For Larksong it was because she knew well that Ravenclaw deserved to be a warrior after what had happened during the newly named warrior's assessment. For Smokestripe, he was proud to see his denmate since kittens to finally get her warrior name - seeing how she had bravely faced a badger by herself didn't hurt. Neither of them could be prouder for Ravenclaw then in this single moment.
