A Quick Patrol [Open for 2 others]

Watching as his breath disappeared in the crisp air, the black tom let out a tired sigh. The birds were just beginning to wake up and closing his eyes, he almost fell asleep where he was. Sitting near the camp entrance, Antdrop and Tinylegs waited for any other cats to join them for a patrol. It was considerably early, but they had faith that someone would show up before long.

Moonlight padded towards Antdrop and Tinylegs with a smile, greeting the first with a respectful nod and the second by nuzzling him lovingly with a soft purr “What are you two doing up so early? Dawn patrol?” She purred, wanting to make sure this was a patrol before asking if she could join them.

Cherrymist joined her parents and the warrior with a soft purr. "Hello Antdrop, mom and dad. May I join you?" he asked, feeling the need to excersise after a few days of sitting in camp and hunting only alone. She enjoyed being with her family, but Sagepaw was a piece that now seemed so lost that there was no hope to be found again.

Giving a nod to Moonlight and Cherrymist, Antdrop stood up, his legs stiff from sitting down for so long. "Yes, let's get started," the black tom meowed in his usual bland sort of tone. Without another word, he turned around and walked out of the camp entrance, knowing that the rest of them would catch up soon.

Purring and nudging his mate's side, the short white tom was glad that his family could join them. "I have no idea, I just happened to wake up early," he chuckled, looking to Cherrymist. He was so proud of his daughter and was so happy for her that she got her warrior name. Turning his gaze to Antdrop, he stared padding out of his older brother, looking back at his mate and kit with a cheery smile.

After the three of them caught up to Antdrop, he looked to Moonlight. "Where should we go first?" he asked, sense it didn't seem like Antdrop had any set plans on where to go or what to do.

Cherrymist followed her kin witn a slight smile, guided by their scent. Her paws were still stiff from the nignt, and she planned on trying her best to get back on her feet after a few days of staying in camp. The she-cat followed the older warriors, scenting the air for prey as they walked quietly throuh the territory.

"We could try our luck by the Moonlit Creek." she suggested, remembering her lessons with Tinylegs and using her general knowledge of how the territory was working for prey rather than cats. She walked besides her mother, her fur brushing hers for comfort and guidance, thing that Cherrymist was secretly afraid of losing.

“Well…maybe we can go hunting, StarClan knows we need the prey…” As she spoke she looked at the surrounding trees as they walked past them. Leafbare was closer than ever and the trees were more than enough proof of it, the branches that were full of green leaves now only had a couple yellowish leaves here and there that were fighting to not fall. However, the lack of prey was what worried Moonlight the most, as she sincerely feared the idea of seeing her clan hungry during such cold days.

Nodding, Antdrop turned the direction ever so slightly so they headed in the direction of the Moonlitcreek. Not long after a few moments of walking through the forest, they made it to the creek and Antdrop lifted mouth, scenting out any prey.

"Sounds like a good idea," the small tom meowed happily. Soon enough they reached the creek and although Leafbare was just around the corner, he could already tell that there was plenty of prey around. "Well, let's get hunting then," Tinylegs added, looking to Moonlight and Cherrymist.

Cherrymist smiled to herself as hey followed her suggestion, and reached Moonlit Creek. She could smell prey in the cold air that froze her nostrils on the inside, making her squeal and sneeze now and then. She scented a rabbit, it's juicy scent luring her to the side of the water, from which she stalked it until she was close enough to leap and dispatch it swiftly. She lifted her head with the limp body in her jaw, not having any particular emotion show on her face. She burried the rabbit, soon in search for more small roddents and birds to prey upon.

Glad to see that Cherrymist was able to hunt on her own, Tinylegs opened his mouth and looked around. There were some birds in a nearby tree but with his short legs it was difficult for him to climb and decided to stick with land prey. Soon spotting a mouse, the tom crouched down and stalked forward. Just a little closer... Leaping towards the small mouse, he was too late. Before he was able to land on it, it scurried away and he let out an angry hiss. "Curse these short legs," the white tom mumbled to himself, his ears flat against his head.

Moonlight nodded with a smile and followed the group to Moonlight creek, chuckling softly when he saw Tinylegs trying and failing to catch his mouse. She kept he muzzle shut, though she almost couldn’t resist the temptation to point out that his short legs were really cute for her, not wanting to embarrass her mate in front of his brother and kit. Taking a deep breath she started to look for some prey on her own, allowing the wind to carry the scents surrounding them to her nose.

It didn't take her long to notice the scent of a racoon, and it was getting closer...this was going to be a battle she wouldn't be able to avoid, she was sure of that. She, however, wasn't expecting the small animal to reach her so quickly, causing her to stumble backwards as it's small claws reached her and managed to leave small wounds as her short fur wasn't good enough to protect her in this kind of situations.

Racoon used Quick Swipe on Moonlight, dealing 20 damage and using 10 stamina.
