Otterkit and Frogkit's Apprentice Ceremony

There wasn't exactly a willow branch to announce things from at the moment, so Fishstar opted to simply hop onto the most elevated stone of Sunningrocks. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath me for a Clan meeting!"

Otterkit and Frogkit both ran out to take their place on little rocks near where Fishstar sat. Otterkit looked eager, all puffed out prideful. Frogkit didn't look overeager, but his fur was all nicely slicked back.

Ashkit followed her brother, smiling at him proud he's finally getting that apprentice title he ranted and raved on about receiving. Watching from afar within a length of the nursery.

"Good luck Otterkit." She muttered.

As per usual, the kits were more than ready to become apprentices. Fishstar's whiskers twitched. It never failed to amuse her. "Otterkit, Frogkit, please stop forward."

Frogkit and Otterkit stepped forward.

Tawnystorm smiled at her son from the crowd. Part of it was a sigh of relief - he was old enough to take care of himself for the most part - but it was mostly genuine pride and affection.

"You have reached the age of six moons," the silver tabby went on, "and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Otterpaw and Frogpaw. Otterpaw, your mentor shall be Thistleblaze. Frogpaw, you mentor shall be Honeyblossom."

Gleaming with pride at his new name, Otterpaw nearly ran over to his mother before he remembered that he was supposed to talk to his mentor first. Beaming at her with his green eyes, he purred happily before going over to where Thistleblaze was to touch noses. "I look forward to learning from you. Teach me everything!"

Frogpaw was much more sedated in his approach, mildly upset that his mother didn't seem to acknowledge him in anyway, though perhaps that was to be expected considering the fact that she was the leader of the clan. She didn't have time to dot on one kit when the whole clan relied on her. Trying not to let it sour his mood, he went over to his mentor, Honeyblossom. "Hey, so you're my mentor huh?"
