Mothkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Wasn't Blacktwig's warrior ceremony only a moon ago? Darkstar chuckled to herself as she leapt smoothly onto the rock. Another one of his kits was to become an apprentice today, and it made her feel a bit old. "All cats old dnough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

Blacktwig leapt skillfully over a long, spanning log, and beside him, his daughter, Mottledpaw, mirrored him in such ways. The duo pranced over to a comfortable, grassy spot, and Blacktwig sat down, and gestured for Mottledpaw to do so as well. The she-cat had been waiting respectfully to see if any other cat would take the spot, but didn't disobey her father's recommendations.

IC: Mothkit bounded over after her father and looked up at Darkstar.

Blacktwig grinned at Mothkit's arrival. "Heya, little moth." He purred, his smile wider. He gave Mothkit a rub against her pelt. His daughter had grown up so quickly; all of his kits had. He was filled with pride.

Mothkit purred. "Hey dad!!" She meowed in excitement.

Emberkit, the fiery russet she, raced up to her adopted niece. It was odd that Mothkit was older than her; but Ember didn't dare bother with keeping track of all her adopted relatives at that point. She didn't care, and besides, nearly the entire clan was probably related to her in one way or another, she thought.
"Hey, Mothkit!" she chirped, her dusty eyes widened with excitement. "You're gonna be great—I wonder who your mentor will be? That'll be cool! And maybe we can train together when I become one, too, 'n—"
The babbling kit paused, her ears pricked towards the dark-furred she perched on top of the boulder.
She plopped down next to Mothkit, sending a puff of sand around her paws, wriggling excitedly.

Mothkit giggled but nodded. "Yeah I wonder who my mentor will be to!" The ginger and black and white tortoiseshell she cat meowed her beautiful hazel eyes sparkling while her almost transparent darker fur colored spots were barely viable against her pelt.

Darkstar's eyes glimmered a bit as she gazed down at the kit, wondering if ceremonies would still hold the same amount of excitement in a few seasons time. She hoped they would. "Mothkit. You have reached the age of six moons and it is time that you became apprenticed. From this moment on until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Mothpaw. Mosswing will be your mentor. I know that she will pass all of her knowledge and skill down to you."

Blacktwig purred, and felt a feeling of utter pride well up inside of his chest. He opened his mouth in an open-mouthed smile, and opted to cheer her name, but nothing escaped his mouth.

Mothkit- no Mothpaw now, purred and jumped up with joy. "Yay!!!"

Emberkit cheered wildly, giving the newly apprenticed she a quick lick on the shoulder.
"Awesome—and Mosswing's great, 'n—can't wait!"
She broke off in small phrases, excited for Mothpaw.

Mosswing smiled from the crowd and stepped up to touch noses with Mothpaw. My first apprentice! The warrior was almost as excited as the apprentice, her eyes glimmering happily. "I can't wait to start training you!" she purred.
