Thistlekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a clan meeting!" Smokepelt meowed. This was his first time up on the rock and he couldn't wait to name Thistlekit as an apprentice.

Thistlekit proudly strode from one of the corners of camp, his still stubby tail perched high above his growing body. He was finally old enough to be an apprentice! To see the territory, learn how to hunt and fight as well, he could hardly contain himself as he stopped beneath Smokepelt, the cat to take him n.

Auburnpaw bounded with a big smile on her face to join the gathering cats, and gave Thistlekit and grin as she noticed him in the large group. "Good luck!" the she-cat encouraged him before settling down with the other apprentices.

Looking down at the crowd of cats, Smokepelt prayed to StarClan that he'd say the right thing and wouldn't mess up the ceremony. "Thistlekit, please step forward," the grey tom meowed.

The older kit took a few more steps forward. In his mind he was pouncing with excitement, but on the outside he remained in a proud stance, not wanting to look like a young kit on the day of his ceremony.

"Thistlekit, you have reached the age of six moons and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Thistlepaw. Your mentor shall be me. May I pass all of my wisdom and abilities onto you," the deputy meowed with pride and jumped off the rock to greet his new apprentice.

Thistlepaw's hearth pounded in his chest, me? the deputy's apprentice? He boomed with even more pride, and as Smokepelt approached him he touched noses. He was more than grateful that the deputy would be passing his wisdom to him.

Smokepelt touched noses with the newly named apprentice, a smile upon his muzzle. "I can't wait to start training with you," he meowed in his usual soft tone. He was so glad to see new apprentices in the clan and couldn't wait to get started.
