I Never Told the Cars to Run (Closed/Solo)

Harekit wandered along the curb of the Thunderpath, playfully balancing himself on the curb with all four paws. He slipped, and, terrified, scrambled back onto the curb, edging slowly away from the Thunderpath. The small, bob-tailed kit raised his heavy little head, yawning. With his mouth open wide, revealing it's pinkish core, he scented a squirrel. His stubby tail waved, as he saw it's dark brown shape and fuzzy head. It bounded tauntingly between the oak trees, so many of them. It seemed to walk right into the Thunderpath. Harekit's eyes shone happily, his small brown paws guiding him into the middle of the stinky path. Though his nose shrivelled back at the horrible smell, the squirrel's tasty scent mingled in. As it looked away, he lunged with all of his strength, snatching it's squirming form in his tiny jaws. It wriggled, yet it was too late.

Blazing yellow eyes crossed the Thunderpath like rays of artificial sunlight, illuminating the long yellow stripe beaming down the middle. It was only heartbeats before it hit that Harekit noticed it. His paws scraped uncomfortably on the asphalt ground as he attempted to race away, yet it was too quick. Fronds of long grass fluttered in the air as the monster, less than begrudgingly, slammed it's huge frame into Harekit's flank. The impact was too much, and the small brown kit flew across the Thunderpath, eyes closing.

In his last seconds, little Harekit, who lived a life too short, thought of his kin.
He would've made a magnificent warrior.
