Sandkit and the grass [OPEN]

An orange tabby tom kit padded through the camp, his white patches glowing in the moonlight. It was mostly quiet, other then the slight rustle of grass as the kit leapt into the air from time to time. Sandkit was horribly bored, and found himself unable to sleep. In Sandkit's mind, the only way to cure boredom was his favorite game; cricket catching! The usually timid tomcat had five crickets in his 'fresh-kill' pile. "Good hunting today!" The kit whispered to a grass tussock, which served as the kit's loyal deputy. I'm Sandstar! The orange tabby thought, puffing out his chest. "We need to send out more patrols..." he breathed to some other grass tussocks behind him. "And you..." the kit whirled around. "You can---" Sandkit's eyes widened in surprise. The kit wasn't addressing a plant this time, but a real cat! "U--uh hello..." Sandkit stuttered, shifting his paws. "Did I make to much noise?"

Eveningkit looked at him
"I dont think so, but that was funny!"

Sandkit laughed, embarrassed. "Uh yeah, funny, heh..." The orange tabby kicked away his cricket pile with a hind-foot, feeling like a weak new-born. "Please don't tell Daisypatch I'm awake..." he breathed, eyes widening with worry as he thought of his mother.

Eveningkit said reasurringly, "Dont worry, i wont tell her, and you shouldnt be embarassed i do things like that all the time!" She looked away for a moment "Like right now..."

Sandkit blinked, shocked that the confident-looking she-cat could ever be embarrassed. "W-what is there to be embarrassed of?" He stuttered, looking at his paws. "I mean you seem so cool..." The orange tabby trailed off, realizing how pathetic he sounded.

"Do you want to be friends?" Eveningkit asked

"S-sure?" Sandkit answered reluctantly. Why would any cat want to be friends with him? The kit kneaded the ground, feeling awkward. "Erm...what do friends do?"

The still three moon old kit looked at the two kits, she looked at them a smile on her face as she hoped over. She flicked her tail and looked at both cats happily with a large smile "Heya!" she purred "Who are you guys? I'm Emberkit" she mewed.

"Sandkit" the orange tabby tom answered curtly, dipping his head. "And this is my friend Eveningkit..." Sandkit drew out the word 'friend.' Not quite sure about it.

"Hi Emberkit!" Eveningkit said to Emberkit before replying to Sandkit, "They play together and like to train together when they are apprentices!" Eveningkit felt like a teacher at this moment, telling a younger kit how life works. Atleast she got a friend here!

Sandkit followed Eveningkit's lead, "Yeah, hi Emberkit." He murmured, glancing at his new friend.

Emberkit frowned as she taught something she was quite close to. She looked at Sandkit, a thought or two going through her mind.
