It's A Hard Time Right Now But Were Still Training [CLOSED TRAINING]

Cloverpaw looked around slowly for a second and then looked back up at Toadclaw. "Um...no" he mewed slowly, unsure of what else there was to do with the mouse other than bring it back to camp.

Cloverpaw looked to the mouse and then back up to Toadclaw. "We are gonna come back for it, right?" he mewed tentatively. He felt like that was a stupid question but he had to ask. He pawed at the ground and started digging, his claws getting caked with mud. He laid a couple clumps of grass over the mud to keep the mouse from getting totally covered in wet dirt and then covered it, looking up to his mentor for approval.

Toadclaw's attitude was well known around camp and Cloverpaw knew what he was getting into when Toadclaw was chosen as his mentor. With this being their first training session, Cloverpaw hadn't been exposed to said attitude. He was taken aback when his mentor snapped at him and he took half a step backwards, his front right paw holding still in the air until Toadclaw apologized. He lowered it slowly to the ground and kept his gaze averted. They were a weird match, but maybe it was for the best in terms of training. Cloverpaw needed to toughen up.

When he was praised, Cloverpaw dipped his head to his mentor and sat down slowly, his fluffy tail resting on his paws. "Thanks" he mewed sheepishly, still kind of cautious that Toadclaw could snap at anytime. "What else are we doing today?" he asked, trying to sound eager.

"We haven't practiced fighting" Cloverpaw mewed, his entire body straightening up. He puffed his fluffy chest out slightly at the thought of ever having to fight with another cat. He was definitely not prepared for that kind of situation and was nervous to start training to fight because he figured he wouldn't be the greatest at it. His temperament was not exactly ideal for violence but the apprentice knew he needed help toughening up and that some skills fighting would make him feel more confident.

Cloverpaw watched Toadclaw's eyes as he spoke and he saw pure excitement radiating from his mentor. He thought briefly about which attack he wanted to practice, but then felt a kind of boldness compel him. Instead of answering, he lunged forward at Toadclaw, unsure of what exactly his next move would be. He pushed into his body and tried to pin him down, but being slightly smaller, was having trouble. "Medium!" he mewed loudly, his voice cracking at the change of tone. He pushed away from the warrior and backed up a few steps, his rear end higher than the rest of his body and wagging slowly behind him. He was ready for any counter attack Toadclaw was going to throw at him and now he was starting to have fun. This won't be so bad he thought, trying to convince himself that if he made it more of a game that he would take to it better.
