A Tour of the Territory (Open to any SC apprentices)

Lightningpaw hummed in thought, not really sure of much going on in Skyclan. He did know that they shared close borders and the Twolegplace border together but, nothing he'd tell Viperfang, the strict, tough she-cat seemed hard to impress.

Ooc: I suppose we can have his little confidence boost around here.. he'll probably start acting like Viperfang, seeing her as an idol.

Rainpaw knew that much-- what he didn't know was why Skyclan had been angry with Thunderclan. His mentor was obviously tired of his questions, though, so he kept his mouth no naughty words, and planned to do so for the rest of the patrol.

Speckledpaw heard the question and replied quickly and curtly. "Climbs trees..... eats birds....." she mewed with long pauses in between, her voice starting to fail after speaking so much on this patrol.

Viperfang was irritated at the lack of responses until Speckledpaw spoke up. "True, Skyclan has a specialty for living in trees, which includes hunting mostly birds. But with their expertise in trees, they are lacking skills to be able to live well in undergrowth..." She mewed in reply, noting Speckledpaw's voice wavering. I'll take her to Dawnflower afterwards. Is her voice a problem? Viperfang thought worriedly, as they continued on their patrol.

As they continued they came upon a gated area that was in shambles. Viperfang kept the patrol a good distance away from it, but even so the revolting scent coming from it made Viperfang crinkle her nose in disgust. "This is Carrionplace. We never go in here unless absolutely necessary. The rats here are dangerous and carry diseases that will most likely kill you without immediate medical attention. Never bring back a rat to camp unless told to by Thrushstar or Leopardfang. No one else!" Viperfang snapped at the apprentices, making sure that they got the point.

Rainpaw nodded, but kept his mouth closed. This was one part of the territory he did know, since he occasionally came here when he needed solitude. He was careful not to hunt any of the diseased prey, though. This, he remembered, was where he encountered that rogue... Could he be described as a rogue, though? He wasn't hostile at all, so maybe he was more of a loner. Not much of a loner if he was scouting for cats to join a clan, though...
Rainpaw mentally scolded himself for getting distracted by those thoughts, and refocused on the lesson at hand.
