Oakpaw's training

Darkfrost patiently sat by the river, watching as the sun rose while he waited for his apprentice. Oakpaw was going to be trained on fishing, today. Hearing pawsteps approach, the white tom turned to whoever was coming toward him, flicking his black tail as he did so.

Oakpaw was the cat who walked up to him "I'm ready" she said confidentally

"Ahh, yes. We shall start training right away. Today, I will be teaching you how to fish. Tell me, do you know anything about fishing yet, Oakpaw?" The white and black tom asked as he blinked at the she-cat with his different colored eyes.

"I've seen a warrior throw one in the air before.." she said

"Hmm," Darkfrost replied as he wrinkled his face in confusion. "There will be no throwing of fish up into the air. Let me show you how it's really done." The white tom positioned himself on the bank so that his shadow was not over the water. "You don't want your shadow on the river, because then the fish will swim away. What you want to do is slowly and gently ease your paw into the water, then wait for a fish to swim by. When one does, you quickly scoop it out onto shore and kill it with one bite. I'll show you how it's done." Darkfrost did exactly what he had explained and slowly put his paw into the water. He waited for a fish to swim by. "You also must stay as quiet and still as possible."

Oakpaw focus on the river in front of her, while her shadow was behind her. When she saw a fish swim by she got too excited to think and plunged into the river. "Sorry!"She said when she swam ashore
