The Darkest of the Lions. (Closed)

The sun wasn't even up yet by the time Lionsong was awake. The large warrior was way too big and now to old to sleep in her old nest and the warrior's den was too crowded so she took to sleeping outside in the cool air. Stretching, Lionsong made her way into the apprentice's den, her blue gaze quickly finding the sleeping figure of Darkpaw. Only half minding her paws, the large golden cat nudged the handsome tom awake. "Darkpaw," the she-cat lowly muttered. "Come do a patrol with me." A patrol was her cover story. She had a question to ask him.

The tom's eyes blinked open, one blue orb and one yellow orb working in perfect synchrony. The golden eye stood out in the darkness, while the dark blue one seemed to sink into it and become part of the shadows. Darkpaw's white fur glimmered silver in the pale moonlight that broke through the den's entrance, and his black tail and paws were barely visible in the blackened night. "L...Lionsong?" the apprentice purred groggily as he lifted his head to look at her. She was a beauty, radiating with a blazing golden color that reflected the moon's beams and her large size loomed over him. In a swift motion, Darkpaw swept to his feet and moss fell from his fur and onto his nest. He was as graceful as a gazelle, but looked as deadly as a shark. "Yeah, sure. Let's go." He was tired, but Darkpaw knew better than to say no to Lionsong.

Lionsong nodded, admiring the tom's eyes. They were so unique. Ever since they were kits, Lionsong desired him because of those. He was so intimidating, and so fierce. Yet she could tell she had the tom wrapped around her large paws. Lionsong's song intoxicated any tom she desired. Like a siren. After one last inspection, Lionsong turned and left the den, narrowly avoiding crashing into the nest with the small opening. Once they exited, the clear and crisp air of night washed over the female, filling her lungs desirably. Saying nothing, she left camp knowing Darkpaw would follow. They traveled in silence until they were to the river, the golden tabby leading the black and white apprentice. When they reached the bank she sat, her long-furred tail curling over her paws as she stood tall in a beam of moonlight.

Darkpaw followed Lionsong out of camp and through the territory. It didn't look like they were going on a patrol, and it seemed to Darkpaw that they were headed toward the River. His suspicions were right. The apprentice watched as Lionsong sat on the bank, her glorious fur glowing in the moon beams and swirling around her. Darkpaw hesitated a few seconds before he padded over at sat down next to her, his black tail brushing against her's. Silently, the tom looked out over the sloshing water and enjoyed the peacefulness. In that moment, Darkpaw suddenly remembered Goosepaw, and Darkpaw stole a glance at Lionsong as he realized how much he wanted her instead of Goosepaw. Does she even love me?

"Darkpaw, I must ask you something." The golden cat finally said after a long, intentional moments of silence. She was discreetly aware of Darkpaw's occasional glances. The tom was so handsome, and a primal and instinctual desire was rising as she aged.

"Yes, Lionsong?" Darkpaw asked while staring down at his paws. Had she seen his glance? What was she going to ask him? Was she angry at him? I didn't do anything wrong, did I? Darkpaw started to get nervous and he looked back over the water, staring out onto Thunderclan's conquered territory.
