Gentlepaw's Warrior Ceremony

As far as Darkstar knew, this would be the only Thunderclan warrior ceremony performed outside their territory. She hopped up onto the rock she'd decided as a replacement for the Highrock and called out, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting!"

Thinstripe padded out from the warriors den, she was happy today. It must be a warrior ceremony she thought, it would be nice to have a new warrior join the den.

Gentlepaw emerged from under a cluster of bushes, her pelt smooth and glossy. She had spent a while getting it to look that way, wanting everything to be perfect. "Today's the day you've been working towards for so long," she thought, a satisfied smile forming on her muzzle. She brushed passed Thinstripe, giving the older she cat a friendly flick with the tip of her tail. They'd be sharing den's soon!
Gentlepaw stood beneath the temporary high rock, her bright amber eyes holding a bittersweet light. It was too bad she couldn't have become a warrior in her own camp. "Nevermind that, I should be glad I made it this far!" She shook away her negative emotions, giving all her attention to Darkstar.

Bluesong padded out and sat down beside Gentlepaw. The gray she-cat licked the top of Gentlepaw's head and smiled.
"I'm so proud of you!" Bluesong purred.

Thinstripe smiled at Gentlepaw and nudged her "Ay me to Gentlepaw" she purred.

Once the apprentice appeared, Darkstar smiled before she began. A new warrior after so long.. it was good. "I, Darkstar, leader of Thunderclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Gentlepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Gentlepaw purred, glad the two people she loved most in Thunderclan were with her now. Her ears perked as Darkstar started the ceremony, butterflies gathering in her stomach. "I do," she responded without hesitation, dipping her head.

Darkstar nodded. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I present you your warrior name. Gentlepaw, from this day on, you shall be known as Gentlenose, for you compassion and skill in hunting.We welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan. You may sit vigil tonight to fulfill your first duty as a new warrior." She hopped down to join in the chanting of the new warrior's name.

Thinstripe smiled "Gentlenose! Gentlenose!" she chanted.

Gentlenose purred happily, her chest puffed up with pride.

"Gentlenose! Gentlenose!" Bluesong yowled with her eyes filled in pride. Bluesong had never thought about how amazing it was to watch your kit become a warrior, but now she understood that it was a great feeling.
