Battle training with a little sister [Closed]

Jayflight groomed himself as he waited in camp, he had an apprentice and was planning to take her training. She would be ready for battle training and what not, she would be pretty hard to handle but could help a lot in battles. He walked into the apprentices den and sat next to Lilypaw "It's time to start training, Lilypaw" he mewed into her ear.

"Ugh..." she groaned, flattening her ears and rubbing her paws against her eyes. "I don' wan' get up!" she whined, flicking her tail. "Can't trainin' start t'orrow?" she mumbled, rolling over.

Jayflight's whiskers twitched with amusement "You want to become a warrior?" he asked already knowing response.

Lilypaw stopped moaning for a moment. "Well, I guess," she dragged out, rising to her paws. "But it's not a priority," she joked. She padded out of the den, starting ahead of Jayflight and bounding out of camp. "Remember that tree climbing you promised me? Wanna get on that? I don't know how to catch robins yet and those things are really dumb."

Jayflight purred "Sure, remember which one it is?" his ears twitched as he asked the question.

"Hey, you're s'posed to know what to do! You're the mentor," she purred. She listened for the flap of ears. "What about that bird up there? Think I can catch it? You'd have ta teach me first," she whispered, putting her paws against the tree.

Jayflight smiled "And your the apprentice" he purred "I'll teach you how to climb first, SkyClan is pretty good at hunting from trees so I don't see how hard it could be" He leaped up and dug his claws in the hard bark of the tree "First you need to find a way to get up" he found himself close to a branch as he felt around "Then try and find a branch to climb up with a start" he eyed it and a moment later jumped up to it. A robin landed on the branch as Jayflight stalked it, he unsheathed his claws and turned to Lilypaw and back to the robin "Then pounce!" he reached out and clawed down his prey not yet killing it, he placed his jaws over it and bit down killing it "And there you go, fresh-kill"

The she-cat nodded, choosing a birch tree to sink her claws into. She shimmied up the tree, the leaves on some lower branches shaking. She sat at the edge of a branch, watching a small finch hop onto a bough on a neighboring tree. She decided to make the leap. The cream apprentice threw herself onto the branch, avoiding a death, but losing her prey. She was hanging on with only her front paws as she yanked herself forward to pull the rest of her body onto the tree. "Oh, come on! That's not fair, I was right there!"

Jayflight smiled "It's fine, no cat is perfect. Try again, I'm sure you'll make it this time" he insisted as he tried to comfort is little sister and try to not make her to mad at herself or give up.

The she-cat nodded and sat quietly on the branch. A robin fluttered just a foxlength from her nose. Lilypaw held her breath and crept closer to it. She quickly pounced on it, missing my a few inches. She leaped up and grabbed its wing with her outstretched claws, pulling it back into her reach. She pinned it against the bark as it screeched in fear. She panicked a little and bit into it shakily. It fell limp in her jaws as she turned around to face Jayflight with shortness of breath. "Di' I do it righ'?" she asked, her sounds muffled by the feathers in her mouth.

Jayflight purred again "Perfect" he mewed "Now do you think you can try to get down?" he asked "We'll be doing battle training next when we exit camp" he informed.

Lilypaw nodded quickly, cautiously climbing down to a lower branch before leaping the rest of the way down. I could probably be a squirrel! ... Well, a much prettier one.

Jayflight smiled, he slowly made his way down and began to lead the way out of camp "So are you excited about doing battle training?" he asked exiting camp and heading into a small clearing, he tasted the air as he scented a ton of prey in the area "We'll be training here" he stretched and turned to Lilypaw "do you know the first move?" he asked.

Lilypaw nodded affirmatively as she demonstrated a front paw blow, a move she'd use on her sister when they were only kits. She knew it wouldn't do much as an apprentice. "It's an easy one, Jayflight. I know it by heart. Let's get to the nitty-gritty! Pretty please?" She pouted at her brother, begging for more moves.

Jayflight laughed "All right, I suppose that one shouldn't be used much in battle" he remembered how fun it was with Silverstone as his mentor, he sighed "How about front paw strike, you need to use your claws and slice them across my face. Unsheathed as well" he mewed "Now you can do it as hard as you want" he instructed "Even though I'm your brother" he added.
