He opened his amber eyes to the bright greenleaf sun, and as he padded out of the nursery for the very first time since his arrival, he couldn't help but sigh in relief. It doesn't get much better than this, does it? Why would any kit want to sneak out when they're treated like royalty right here? The kit looked back, briefly remembering the first scent he had of his mother, Thinstripe. It troubled him to this day, because he could've sworn there was another cat there. The terror that had overcome him as the cats nursing beside him were snatched up and he was carried away haunted him. He dreamed and hoped that they would join him in the nursery, but they never did. It pained him to think that he could've had companions, somehow. Despite this, he did his best to please his mother, and finally, he had found the curiosity to take a look outside.

Scorchkit fit his name quite well. He had a flaming temper, but it was over as soon as it started, leaving a sour attitude behind. However, right now he was content. He watched a butterfly flutter around the camp, raising a lazy paw to bat it. He giggled and stretched in the grass. The smoky kit watched the bustle of warriors hunting and patrolling and gossiping. He wanted nothing more than to be one of them one day. Maybe I could even lead them!

Thinstripe watched her son Scorchkit play around with the butterfly, she had a small smile across her face as she watched him.

Flashkit was sitting near the nursey watching Scorhkit. He wanted to talk to him,but he had decided not to when he first came out of the nursery,since he was busy that time. He hoped he could talk to him now.

Gentlepaw peered into the nursery, a curious look in her amber eyes. She hadn't yet met Thinstripe's kits, why not now? "Hi Thinstripe!" she purred to her friend. "How are you and the kits doing?" Gentlepaw couldn't help but remember when she was a kit, first meeting Thinstripe. With a shock, she realized she was around the age Thinstripe was when they first met.

Thinstripe shrugged "Ok, that's Scorchkit. He'll be joining the apprentices den soon" she mewed flicking her tail over to the black smoky colored kit.
